This finding aid was completed in January, 2013 by Alice Mitchell. Contents of finding aid are subject to changes and updates as necessary.

2 Historical Note Commencement has taken place at Beloit College every year, save for 1864, due to a large number of students and faculty fighting in the Civil War. Speakers have given addresses at commencement consistently since the first graduating class. Scope and Contents This collection primarily contains programs from commencement ceremonies. There are some president s notes on commencement, as well as scattered programs for Baccalaureate and audiovisual materials. Arrangement Note This collection has been compiled over the years through separate accessions of various sizes from various offices and individuals, none of which has any accompanying documentation. The original order of the documents is unknown. The arrangement order presented here has been imposed by the College Archives staff. Programs from future commencements and Baccalaureates are expected.
