We look forward to hearing his insight into all the matters currently facing Congress and the Country in the busy wrap up of With Congress in session and with many initiatives under consideration, we hope that nothing will interfere with his ability to be with us. We look forward with anticipation to seeing him. 2 CARING FOR AMERICA: We will have the Nancy Gist Giving Tree at the Annual Meeting. The money collected from the sale of stockings for the tree will go towards supporting a family in need at Christmas we will provide gifts and holiday food to make the season bright. Your generosity is greatly appreciated. VETERANS DAY CEREMONY: This is a reminder to attend the 13th Annual Veterans Day Ceremony on Saturday November 11 at 11:00 AM at the Veterans Memorial in Ocean Pines. Chairs will be provided on the first-come basis, so please bring a lawn chair to insure your comfort. An alternative site will be available in case of inclement weather. We continue to collect toiletries for our troops, so if you have any, please bring them to the next meeting. Kathleen Tallman has been faithfully delivering them to the USO in Delaware and they are very thankful for any and all donations. Please support our troops in any way you can, they deserve our thanks and generosity. CHRISTMAS ACTIVITIES: On Monday, November 20 we will be decorating the RWWC Christmas Tree in White Horse Park. Our tree will be the first tree on the left on the path to the gazebo from the parking lot. Bev Bigler will be there with all the tree trimmings at 2:00 pm ready to decorate. Wear warm clothing and join her in making our tree beautiful. If you have any questions, call Bev at On Saturday, December 2 we will be participating in the Ocean City Christmas Parade from Old Landing Road to 120 th Street. The parade steps off at 11:00 am but we will be decorating our truck beginning at 10:00 am. If you re interested in decorating or marching, please call Bev at with any questions. Otherwise just come and cheer the parade.

3 VOLUNTEER HOURS: Please remember to account for all time invested in RWWC activities by reporting your hours to me by phone at , at our website or by at You do not have to account for your attendance at the monthly luncheons I will take care of that for you. Any political activity is eligible for reporting and time spent reading club-related and political s you receive should be reported. Our club receives recognition from the MFRW each year for how actively involved we are, so let's show them just how active the RWWC can be. 4 RWWC MEMBERSHIP FOR 2018: We are now accepting renewals and new memberships for the coming year. The cost is $30. This year, we would like everyone to fill out a dues renewal form so that we can have the most current data on everyone s and home addresses. This information is only for our use and is not shared outside of the club. There will be complete membership applications available at our meeting for you to give to friends who may be interested in joining that fully explains our mission and goals. 5 REPUBLICAN WOMEN OF WORCESTER COUNTY General Meeting and Luncheon Captain's Table Restaurant The Marriott, Ocean City, MD October 26, 2017 The meeting was called to order by President Bev Bigler at ll:00 a.m. sharp. Bev welcomed several guests and members present. Lou Etta McClaflin gave the invocation. Sandy Fennell led all present in the Pledge of Allegiance to our Flag. OFFICERS' REPORTS Recording Secretary Dottie Toms distributed copies of the minutes of the General Meeting and Luncheon of June 22, The minutes were approved as written. Treasurer's Report/2018 Budget Approval Mary Adair distributed written copies of her financial report. She reported that as of this date RWWC bank balance is $ Lou Etta distributed written copies of RWWC Proposed 2018 Calendar Year Budget. The Budget was unanimously approved. 1 st Vice President Leith Clinton announced that the speaker for this afternoon will be Andrew Illuminati, MD State's Attorney for Wicomico County. November's speaker will be Congressman Andy Harris. 2 nd Vice President Sandy Zitzer made a brief report regarding our successful September Fashion Show. The gift boxes were popular; and this event, along with our other fund raisers this year (Paint Day & Wine and Beer Tasting) brought in approximately $4600. Correspondence Secretary Bev reported for Loretta that she continues to send RWWC cards of caring. Let Loretta know of anyone who would appreciate a card. COMMITTEE REPORTS Americanism Barbara Benz recited a moving poem honoring our beautiful American Flag. Literacy Sharon Byerly reported that September was Literacy Month, and thanked all her volunteers who had generously given their time to work with her at Showell Elementary School. She is pleased with the press that the RWWC Literacy Program has been given. Caring for America Vera Beck collected food for the poor at this meeting, and set up the Christmas Giving Tree. She reminded all she is still collecting toiletries for our returning heroes.

6 Newsletter Gloria Moyer had no report at this time. Bev reminded us to get news articles to Gloria in a timely fashion. Luncheons Patty Addy was busy throughout our luncheon. This meeting drew 76 members and guests. Our Annual Dinner and General Meeting will be held November 16, 2017, at Dunes Manor Hotel in Ocean City. Membership Jean Delcher has taken over RWWC Membership Committee Reports, and members welcomed her. Parliamentarian Deanna Lowe announced the new RWWC Executive Board Nominees: President, Beth Rodier; 1 st VP, Sandy Zitzer; 2 nd VP, Kathy Vornlocker; Recording Secretary, Vanessa Alban; Corresponding Secretary, Loretta Spinuzza; and Treasurer, Mary Adair. There were no other nominations from the floor and all nominees were unanimously approved at this meeting. Voter Registration Carol Frazier can be reached for information. Drawing will be held at Whiskers on December10. Carol Frazier announced that she will now be working in her new role as RWWC Legislative Liaison. She will be reporting to us on legislative activities such as the Paid Sick Leave Bill, Community Trust Act, Physician Assisted Suicide, Maryland as a Sanctuary State ; and other concerns currently involved in the Maryland Legislature. We welcome Carol in her new role. Joan Gentile, RWWC Past President, reported that she has been nominated Regional Chair by Beth Rodier, MFRW. Michelle Bradley will be the Eastern Region Vice Chair. Beth Rodier and Bev Bigler both give Joan a vote of confidence in this nomination. Joan said she will try to do us proud; and RWWC members welcomed their new Regional Chair. We can contact Joan at

7 Joan also reported that on November 9, 2017, The Greater Wicomico Republican Women will be welcoming to their meeting Diana Waterman, President-Elect of the MFRW; and invited the RWWC. Chip Bertino, Worcester County Commissioner, gave a brief report on current affairs of our County. Pat Schrawder distributed a written notice of a Special Announcement to be presented by Mary Beth Carozza, at Ocean City Elementary School on Sunday, November 19, 2-4 p.m. (rain or shine). Our 50/50 Raffle was held. Barbara Benz won $ LUNCHEON Leith introduced our speaker, Andrew Illuminati, a Felony Prosecutor in Wicomico County States Attorney s Office. Mr. Illuminati was an interesting and informative speaker, and graciously answered several questions from RWWC members.
