2 Kansas Bankers: The vulnerability of thank you Thank you as in: I couldn t have done this without you. Or as in: I don t want to do this alone. Thank you brings us closer together to a common goal. Thank you is a limb worth going out on. It is important to recognize those who have helped us achieve our goals and to build strong relationships for our industry. It is also imperative that we continue to foster and build upon our relationships. As bankers we also know the political risk of those who went out on the limb to join us and support us. Therefore, it is time for us to thank those state lawmakers who have gone out on the limb for our banking industry. The last two sessions in Topeka have brought about the mortgage registration tax phase-out and protection of banks rights as lienholders. Our success would not have occurred without the leadership and support of policymakers serving in Topeka. On February 3rd at the Topeka Country Club, we have the opportunity to truly show our thanks in style. The reception that evening is a once a year chance to say thank you in person. WE, BANKERS can choose to make an impact by attending. Now is the time for Bankers to step up to the plate and knock one out of the park in Royals style! It takes team work for the banking industry to be successful and that is what February 3rd is about BUILDING a BANKING TEAM!. A team of bankers and policymakers who all want Kansas and Kansans to be successful! Please join me and your fellow team members at the Harold A. Stones Public Affairs Conference on Wednesday, February 3rd at the Topeka Country Club! Sincerely, Robert A. Leftwich KBA Chairman
