2 WELCOME MESSAGE Dear colleagues and friends interested and providers of burn care, It is my pleasure to invite you to participate at the 8 th Central European Burn Congress, which will take place in the Slovak Republic from May 31 st to June 1 st. This is for the second time that this scientific event will take place in Bratislava, capital city of Slovakia. I am very happy that in addition to the scientific program of the congress, the Comenius University Medical Faculty Department of Burns and Reconstructive Surgery is celebrating this year 30 th Anniversary of its foundation. We are aiming to prepare both a chalenging scientific program and a convenient social program with an option of pre- and post- congress tours in this central European region which is very rich of historical events.
