You Tube Clip. TTW show the You Tube clip There Are No Cats In America. TTW hand out the lyrics to the song. Discuss in relation to immigrants from Russia, Italy, Ireland, etc during the late 1800 s. (7 min) Clip: Lyrics: D. TTW give notes over immigration/chapter (13 min) E. Push vs. Pull Factors. TSW examine the map of immigration and push/pull factors on page 337. TSW give examples of push and pull factors based on the notes given and the information on the map in the text. (5 min) F. Map It. TSW map (identify and label) where the majority of immigrants came during the late 1800 s using the map on page 337 and the world map on RA16- RA17. (10 min) World Map: G. Closure. (5 min) CLOSURE: (5 min) 1. TTW restate objectives. 2. TTW review the material. 3. TTW state that time we will be discussing the rise of cities.
