2 President directs formation of economic council President Abd-Rabbu Mansour Hadi received on Sunday members and head of the industrial and commercial chamber in Aden and discussed with them their significance role in building the state via their trade and economic activities associated with people livelihoods. Attended by Minister of Planning and International Cooperation Mohammad al-sa adi and Governor of the Central Bank of Yemen Mohammad Zimam, President Hadi reviewed developments in the country in different fields and efforts exerted for regaining development order. 4 Hadi orders govt to clamp down on security irregularities in Aden President Abd-Rabbu Mansour Hadi ordered the security authorities in the temporary capital Aden to clamp down on security irregularities and bring those responsible for assassinations to justice. In a follow-up call with Aref Ahmed Ali the secretary general of the Doctors Union in Aden who, along with his son, sustained injuries in an assassination attempt in Aden this morning, Hadi indicated that he ordered the government to cover the expenses of the treatment of Aref s son who sustained critical injuries. An explosive device exploded and ripped their car as they were driving in al-mualla in the center of the city. VP thanks Saudi leadership for hosting 1500 Yemeni pilgrims In a meeting with Minister of Endowments Ahmed Atiya on the arrangements for the upcoming Haj, Vice President Ali Mohsen Saleh thanked King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud and Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saudof Saudi Arabia for facilitating the arrangements of Hajj for Yemenis and theirfollow-up on these facilitations. 5 VP briefed follows on efforts of Executive Unit for IDPs Camp Management Vice President Ali Mohsen Saleh met with the head of the Executive Unit for IDPs Camp Management Najib Al-Saadi on Monday to know about their efforts exerted in offering relief aid and shelter services to the people displaced by the Houthi militia. The Vice President underlined the importance of the role that the Executive Unit should play in organizing the relief aid operations in coordination with organizations that operate in the same field. In this regard, he praised the role of all relief aid organizations, particularly King Salman Humanitarian Aid and Relief Center (KSrelief) which carried out most of the humanitarian aid operations. The Deputy President stressed the need to step up the efforts to ensure the arrival of relief aid to the beneficiaries. Al-Saadi referred to the Unit s efforts to approach donor organizations to help in meeting the requirements of the displaced in various provinces. He thanked the Vice President for his close follow-up on the situations of the IDPs and the efforts to alleviate their suffering. Vice President inspects efforts of liberating Baidha Province Vice President Ali Mohsen met on Saturday with Governor of Baidha Naser al-suwadi and discussed with him latest developments in the province and victories accomplished by the National Army in different warfronts. The meeting dealt with efforts of the state in normalizing conditions in liberated areas in the province and imposing the rule of law and finalizing the liberation of the province for ending suffering of the people from Houthi war on the province. 6 PM says resolving issues of Yemeni Prime Minister Ahmed bin- Daghr met with the a number of representatives of the Yemeni students community in Jordanian universities in the Yemeni Embassy in Amman on students abroad a priority Sunday to address the problems that the students face. The government places big emphasis on the issues of all the country s students pursuing education in different countries; giving consideration to their financial dues and addressing the other issues as a priority for the government, he told the representatives. Govtsupports Arab Coalition announced measures to protect Red Sea shipping The Yemeni government has expressed its support for the Arab Coalition s announced measures to protect shipping south of the Red Sea and in Bab al-mandab strait in particular. The Coalition s spokesman Cl. Turk al-maliki told reporters on Wednesday that the Coalition, in coordination with the international community, has taken all the necessary measures to ensure the continued freedom of shipping in the Red Sea, days after the Iran affiliate Houthi rebels attacked a Saudi oil tanker and slightly damaged it. Following Maliki s statements,the Yemeni foreign ministry issed a statement calling on the United Nations Security Council to assume its responsibilities to secure international navigation. Protecting international shipping lane in the south of the Red Sea and Bab al-mandab region is not solely the task of the Yemeni government and thecoalition, read the foreign ministry s statement. 7 FM updates G18 ambassadors on Yemen developments RIYADH-SABA Foreign Minister Khalid Alyemanymet in Riyadh on Monday the ambassadors of the G18 group of nations sponsoring political process in Yemen to discuss resuming peace talks between the government and the Houthi rebels. Alyemany stressed the government s commitment to support the UN Secretary General s Special Envoy for Yemen Martin Griffiths and provide all facilities for the completion of his mission. He pointed to the danger of the Houthi militia s recent escalation by attacking Saudi oil tankers south of the Red Sea and Bab al-mandeb strait. Alyemany extols Yemen-Russian relation on the 90th Anniversary of establishing Foreign Minister Khaled Alyemany praised the historic friendships relations between Yemen and Russia. Underling the importance of celebrating the 90th Anniversary of architecting these distinguished and fruitful friendship ties. The two countries are planning cultural, political and scientific activities to mark the 90th Anniversary in November. 8 He said thatprotecting international shipping lanes is primarily the international community s responsibility The government is open and ready to participate effectively in any political consultations with clear objectives, frameworks and mechanisms called for by the United Nations, such that the Houthi militia are not given the chance to use the consultationtime to play delay tactics and other maneuvers that prolong the war and, hence, the suffering of the Yemeni people. He said that the government welcomesthe UN envoy s proposals concerning the withdrawal of Houthis from the city of Hodeidah which contributes to implementing the UN Security Council resolution 2216 that provided for ending the Houthi coup of 2014 and withdrawal of the armed militias from cities and government institutions. But the Houthis have proved their determination to carry on with the war and rejection ofthe political process, he said. He said that they stubbornly refusedthe envoy s proposal with withdrawal. The government, based on its sovereign right and constitutional obligations, will continue its efforts, both militarily and politically, to restore the sovereignty of the state over the province of Hodeidah and its ports and all areas of the West Coast, and to alleviate the oppression sufferedby the people of these areas, he said. Once the government collects the revenues it will be able to pay the salaries of public servicemen, overdue for years now. The government s move to liberate Hodeidah aims to end the interventionsof Iran by providing its Houthi proxies with various weapons, including ballistic missiles, he said. He noted that there are serious legal repercussions for any continue continued control of the ports and coasts by the Houthi militia;that poses a real threat to the flow of global energy and trade in one of the world s most important shipping lanes On the humanitarian side, he pointed out that the humanitarian aid is delivered far ahead of military offensives. He stressed that the government, the Arab Coalition countries especially Saudi Arabia, the UAE, Kuwait and other countries including from outside the Coalition have increased their aid donations to Yemen. The Coalition issues daily permits for an average of five vessels to enter the port of Hodeidah carrying commercial goods and humanitarian aid. He stressed the need to take advantage of the capabilities of all sea, land and air ports in Yemen including the ports of Aden and Mukalla, and the ports of neighboring countries to deliver humanitarian support and commercial goods to Yemen, The ambassadors expressed their commitment to a UN overseen settlment as the only track to restorepeace to Yemen. 9 Minister of Foreign Affairs Khalid Alyemanyhis Saudi counterpart Adel Ahmed Al-Jubeir discussed political coordination, cooperation and consultation between the Yemeni and Saudi foreign ministries and their affiliate diplomatic missions to international organizations. In a meeting the ministers held in the Saudi capital on Wednesday, Alyemany conveyed President Abd- Rabbu Mansour Hadi s greetings and appreciations to King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud and Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman for Saudi Arabia s continuous support to the Yemeni people. Almayssari blamed Iranbacked Houthi putschist militia for prolonging the ongoing war. 10 Oil Company s directors discuss challenges The Directors of the Yemeni Oil Company kicked off their annual meeting on Wednesday under the sponsorship of Minister of Oil and Minerals Aws al-awd. The meeting, which lasts for two days discusses accomplishments of the company in the past and reports on the company s branches, as well as challenges facing the branches in provinces of Aden, Hadhramout, Mareb, facing branches Shabwa, Mahra and Taiz. KSrelief hands over medical aid to Al- Ghaydha hospital King Salman Humanitarian Aid and Relief Center (KSrelief) handed over on Saturday a shipment of medical aid to Al-Ghaydha, the main hospital, in the eastern Yemen province of al-mahrah. The shipment consists of mobile x-ray machines, digital test tools, surgery kits, intensive care apparatus, dialysis machines and other equipment. More aid shipments will be provided by KSrelief to the hospital, said Rajeh Bakreit the governor of al- Mahrah. 11 Yemen, UAE discuss humanitarian, development efforts Minister of Public Works and Roads Dr. Maeen Abdulmalik discussed with the Director of UAE Humanitarian Operations in Yemen Saeed al-ka bi and the Head of the UAE Red Crescent Mission Saeed Al Ali humanitarian and development efforts in the liberated provinces. The statement said 500,000 barrels of crude oil had been exported after marketing the shipment globally; 35 international companies participated in the international tender that was announced and the shipment was awarded to a Chinese petroleum companyas per the price quotes from crude oil Brent bourse. The statement pointed out that the province of Shabwa will receive the proportion of 20 percent of revenues from the sales of crude oil produced from the province, as will all source provinces of oil outputs. 12 Askar solicits Dutch support to develop National Commission of Enquiry Minister of Human Rights Dr. Mohammed Askar discussed with the Dutch Ambassador to Yemen Irma Marie Van Dueren scooperation between Yemen and the Netherlands in the field of human rights and supporting the National Commission in charge of investigating allegations of human rights abuses in the country. The support asked for includes capacity building and other necessary technical support. CBY takes measures to keep prices of Yemeni Riyal stable The Central Bank of Yemen approved on Tuesday withdrawal of the first batch of Saudi deposit to cover bank s credits. The value of the first batch is USD 20.4 million. The bank approved also the second batch of the banks demands for covering credits from Saudi deposit and finalizing measures of payment within approved mechanisms and agreement on issuing certificates of deposits to commercial banks by the ratio of 17 percent. The board of the bank agreed on issuing government receipts with a benefit amounting to 12 percent for different periods from one to three years and issuing accredit deposit to Islamic banks with net profit of 13 percent in accordance with mechanism of legal controlbodies The meeting approved the report of the bank s controlling sector and results of the field visit to inspection technical teams and approved closure of all violated money exchange shops and referring them to specialized bodies to take legal action against them.
