Deeley on Friday, February 14 in Portland PORTLAND---The Installation Mass of Bishop Robert P. Deeley, scheduled for Friday, February 14, at 2 p.m. at the Cathedral of the Immaculate Conception in Portland, will be presented live on television, radio and online with extensive additional coverage on the Diocese of Portland website, and on diocesan social media platforms. The live telecast, which will be produced by Headlight Audio/Visual with satellite services provided by WMTW-TV, will air nationally on EWTN, which is available throughout Maine. In several areas of the state, viewers will also be able to view the Mass on the CatholicTV Network. Father Robert Reed, president of the CatholicTV Network, will provide commentary on both broadcasts. Coverage on both EWTN and the CatholicTV Network will begin at 1:30 p.m. Check local listings for channel information. Maine s only Catholic radio network, The Presence Radio Network (106.7 FM in Greater Portland and Lewiston/Auburn, 90.3 FM in Greater Bangor, 89.7 FM in Bath/Brunswick, and 89.5 FM in Augusta) will also broadcast the Mass live and will offer rebroadcasts on Sunday, February 16, at noon; Tuesday, February 18, at 10 a.m.; and Thursday, February 20, at 8 p.m. Listeners can also hear the Mass on their smartphones with the TuneIn Radio app or at The Installation Mass can also be viewed online at or at The diocesan website, Facebook page and Twitter feed will also be updated with the latest information, pictures and video leading up to, on and after the historic day. 4 510 Ocean Avenue Telephone: (207) Office of Communications Monsignor Charles Murphy to Hold Book Signing and Discussion at The Abbey Catholic Book & Gift Shop in Scarborough on March 8 February 7, 2014 SCARBOROUGH---Monsignor Charles Murphy, director of the diaconate for the Diocese of Portland, will hold a book signing and discussion of his new book Reclaiming Francis: How the Saint and the Pope Are Renewing the Church on Saturday, March 8, from 10 a.m. until noon, at The Abbey Catholic Book & Gift Shop on US Route 1 Dunstan Corner in Scarborough. The book offers a timely look at Pope Francis as he continues to call for the rebuilding of the Church, and examines what today s Church can learn from St. Francis of Assisi about renewal. Monsignor Murphy details the correlations between the two men and shows why St. Francis is an ideal model for today s world as Pope Francis moves the New Evangelization forward. In addition to his role as director of the diaconate, Monsignor Murphy has authored numerous scholarly articles and books. He is the former academic dean and rector of Pontifical North American College in Rome and served as part of the editorial group which edited the Catechism of the Catholic Church. The conference, set for Thursday, April 10, and Friday, April 11, aims to confront the exploitation of the vulnerable in our communities. Trafficking is the fastest-growing crime in the world, and it IS here in Maine. It is imperative that the Church supports this call to action for caring about injustice against, and the oppression of, the weak and vulnerable.
