2 New York Voter Analysis for Korean Americans (As of June, 216) Purpose of Analysis KACE conducted an analysis of the voter data to get a measure on the current status of Korean Americans political capability and to gather insight on how to register more Korean Americans to vote. Data Sources This data was compiled based on data provided by the New York State Board of Elections. This data is derived from the primary elections data (Presidential nominee, U.S. Senate and House) held in April and June of 216. To provide even more detailed data, there is an incorporated use of the 214 U.S. Census and 21 American Community Survey. Filtering Korean American Voter Data Through an algorithm developed by KACE, the voter data for Korean Americans is filtered by the voter s first name, last name, names of voters at the same address, and other conditions specified in the program. A voter is classified as inactive when he or she does not respond to the confirmation notice of address from the Board of Elections (BOE), or if mails sent to him or her is returned to the BOE.
