1 POLISH AMERICAN CONGRESS Winter - Spring 2017 Action Alert for Reminding Newly-Installed Members of the 115th United States Congress ( ) In its First Session that the Presidential Order of the Outgoing Administration for the Re- Deployment of Some 3,000 United States Armed Forces to Poland from Germany that Began on January 12, 2017 Should Not Be Rescinded by the New Administration for the Purpose of Achieving a United States Rapprochement and Dénouement with Russia PART ONE. What follows below is a "road map" for contacting Congressional members in both the United States Senate and House of Representatives. Of the 100 members of the Senate included in Part One where this telephone campaign "action alert" begins, only the names of the 36 Senators representing the 18 states (AZ, CA, CT, DE, IL, IN, MA, MD, MI, MO, NH, NJ, NY, OH, PA, RI, VA, and WI) in which we have official active Divisions in good standing and are identified in bold red print are those to be called insofar as we are their voting constituents. It is recommended that contact be made by phone to their offices in Washington, DC in a clearly-spoken, unhurried pace, and by reading the following statement concerning this "action alert" to the person answering the phone and upon completion, ask that it be brought to your Senator's attention: "I am ( fill in your name and residential address ), a Polish American voting constituent of United States Senator ( fill in his or her name here ). It is of great importance to me that the Senator is cognizant of the fact that Poland is one of the most dependable allies of the United States, particularly as it relates to taking its obligations in NATO seriously. Russia under the Czars, then the communists, and now Vladimir Putin characteristically held and now holds anti Western positions on the wrong side of history, particularly as it relates to freedom, independence, democracy, and human rights, the best contemporary example of the latter 1
2 point which has been the deployment of Russian fighter planes to bomb and strafe civilians in Aleppo, Syria. As such, it is very important that our United States government should not be pressured from any external or internal source for rescinding the current re deployment of elements of our nation's Armed Forces from Germany to Poland that began on January 12, Russia responds to an opponent's strength and steadfast resolve much more than it does to professions of admiration and friendship. That's how the United States won the Cold War during the presidency of Ronald Reagan. There should be no United States Russian Federation modus vivendi at the expense of Poland. In short, let's keep elements of America's Armed Forces deployed in Poland. Americans are not and should never be subservient to Russia. Thank you. Finally, if you have relatives, friends, and/or business associates in states not having Divisions of the Polish American Congress, let them know -- if they are so inclined -- that they can use this list of United States Senators to make their own phone calls to their Senators as well, and encourage them to do so. NOTE: As it appears on the United States Senate website, on the matter of Class - "Article I, section 3 of the Constitution requires the Senate to be divided into three classes for purposes of elections. Senators are elected to six-year terms, and every two years the members of one class approximately one-third of the senators face election or reelection. Terms for senators in expire in 2019, in 2021, and in 2023." ************************** Murkowski, Lisa - (R - AK) 709 Hart Senate Office Building Washington DC (202) Contact: Sullivan, Dan - (R - AK) 702 Hart Senate Office Building Washington DC (202) Contact: Vacant - (AL) Shelby, Richard C. - (R - AL) 304 Russell Senate Office Building Washington DC (202) Contact: 2

Contrasting with Part One in which all of our nation's 100 Senators are listed, this second part of the "action alert" only lists the names and related contact information for the Congressmen and Congresswomen representing the 18 states (AZ, CA, CT, DE, IL, IN, MA, MD, MI, MO, NH, NJ, NY, OH, PA, RI, VA, and WI), along 11
12 with the District of Columbia, in which we have official active Divisions in good standing. Again, it is recommended that contact be made by phone to their offices in Washington, DC in a clearly-spoken, unhurried pace. We ask that you read the following statement concerning this House of Representatives version "action alert" to the person answering the phone (or whoever she or he transfers you to) and upon completion, ask that it be brought to your Congressman's or Congresswoman's attention: "I am ( fill in your name and residential address ), a Polish American voting constituent of United States Congressman/woman ( fill in his or her name here ). It is of great importance to me that he/she is cognizant of the fact that Poland is one of the most dependable allies of the United States, particularly as it relates to taking its obligations in NATO seriously. Russia under the Czars, then the communists, and now Vladimir Putin characteristically held and now holds anti Western positions on the wrong side of history, particularly as it relates to freedom, independence, democracy, and human rights, the best contemporary example of the latter of which has been the deployment of Russian fighter planes to bomb and strafe civilians in Aleppo, Syria. Finally, if you have relatives, friends, and/or business associates in your state who are not members of the Polish American Congress, let them know -- if they are so inclined -- that they can use this list to call their own Congressmen/women as well, and encourage them to do so. Thank you for participating in Part Two as well. Please note as well that WMAD stands for our Washington Metropolitan Area Division which includes Maryland, Virginia, and the District of Columbia. ************************** UNITED STATES HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES 12
