Mrs. Allen also served on the Board of Zoning Appeals and the Tax Equalization Board for the City of Knoxville under former Mayors Ashe and Haslam. STAFF RECOMMENDATION: Recommend that City Council APPROVE the street name 'Jane Allen Drive', as requested. The applicant has provided signatures from adjacent property owners, all indicating agreement with the proposed name change. The proposed street name is not a duplication and meets all requirements of the Knox County Street Naming and Addressing Ordinance. COMMENTS: Staff has received no objections to the renaming of this street, and it meets all requirements of the "Addressing Guidelines and Procedures" section of MPC's Administrative Rules and Procedures. The applicant has provided documentation from adjacent property owners regarding the proposed street name change and staff has not heard from any neighborhood opposition. No addresses will change as a result of the renaming of this street. If approved, this item will be forwarded to Knoxville City Council for action on /5/0 and //0. If denied, MPC's action is final, unless the action to deny is appealed to Knoxville City Council. The date of the appeal hearing will depend on when the appeal application is filed.
