1 31 March 2016 Mise-en-Femme Productions Organization Constitution PREAMBLE We the members of Mise en Femme Productions, subscribing to the regulations and policies of Temple University, establish this Constitution to govern the matters within our organization. ARTICLE I - IDENTIFICATION Section 1 Name The name of this organization shall be Mise en Femme Productions. Section 2 Affiliations None at the moment but we look forward in working with other organizations that appreciate feminism, filmmaking, and other topics that relate to our foundation. ARTICLE II - PURPOSE Section 1 Purpose Mise en Femme Productions is an organization for women looking to work with one another to gain knowledge and hands on experience in the art of filmmaking. We will learn to network and value each other's ideas and skills by collaborating in making films. While making films as a team, we will value each other's aesthetic preferences and incorporate any ideas that, as a whole, will create a powerful and crowd pleasing film. Each person will play a significant role in the club, while also working with others who are interested in playing their role. We hope to be as diverse and creative possible in order to achieve our goal in expressing female empowerment in the artistic work force. ARTICLE III - MEMBERSHIP Section 1 Membership Member must be an undergraduate, female student. We are open to strictly Film and Media Arts students, all majors and minors. Media Studies and Production majors/minors will also be considered. All members must agree to give permission when submitting final works to film festivals and other public screenings. Member must take at least one (1) course in her respective major during the current semester. Section 2 Removal of Membership If a member wishes to withdraw from the club, she may do so by notifying an executive board member via . If a member does not attend, participate, or communicate after four (4) meeting cycles, the executive

2 board will remove her name and from the listserv. following semester. Reapplication will be considered for the If a member decides to change her major outside of those mentioned in Article III, Section 1, dismissal from the club will go into effect the upcoming academic year. If a member plagiarizes in any form, or infringes upon another member s intellectual property, the executive board will immediately remove her. She will not have permission to rejoin the club at anytime in her academic career at Temple University. If she chooses, the member in question will have an opportunity to file an appeal to the executive board to discuss the case. ARTICLE IV- MEMBERSHIP FEES Section 1 Dues Mise en Femme Productions does not require a fee to join or participate. The members will fundraise for all money used for production and activities through investors, grants, crowdfunding resources (i.e. Indiegogo, Go Fund Me, Kickstarter). Section 2 Categories of Membership Members of the Executive Board are responsible for finding resources to raise money for club. ARTICLE V - OFFICERS Mise en Femme Productions is governed by an executive board consisting of a President, Vice president, Treasurer, Secretary, and Public Relations Chair. Officers must attend all meetings. If an officer must miss a meeting, they are required to notify the President or Vice President, who will assign the job of that person onto another suitable officer. Section 1 Officer Eligibility, Roles, Responsibilities The PRESIDENT is responsible for overseeing all aspects of the club s activities and productions. She will coordinate the jobs for each officer and schedule the activities calendar. She will facilitate all club meetings by creating an agenda (including executive board meetings and other special meetings of the organization, as needed). The president sets clear and attainable goals, and acts as a role model by motivating members; furthermore, she delegates the duties and keeps the executive board on track. She works towards increasing membership from the previous year, and plans over the summer so projects can begin as quickly as possible. She must also maintain contact with organization adviser, Leann Erickson. Lastly, the President will represent and uphold the club s ideas to the community. The VICE PRESIDENT will have similar responsibilities as the President. She is in charge of preparing for events/activities and gauging the member s interest in the various activities. She will organize bonding, fundraising, and other events aside from general club meetings. At the end of the year, she is responsible for facilitating election of new officers. She will also perform any other duties as directed by the President. The TREASURER works with the president to keep track of funding campaigns. She organizes her records so the executive board and faculty advisor can easily access them online (OwlBox). In addition, she works with Temple Student Government (TSG) to educate herself on university policies regarding finances in student organizations. The treasurer relays the information during executive board meetings,

3 and to the faculty advisor as needed. During pre production, she ensures the members raise the necessary funds, for without them production will be postponed and effect all the members. The SECRETARY will be responsible for conducting internal communications, including weekly meeting recaps and reminders. She organizes her records so the executive board and faculty advisor can easily access them online (OwlBox). She keeps track of member s contact information and attendance. In addition, she is extremely knowledgeable about the Constitution and bylaws of the club. She records all regular club meetings and executive board meetings, and keeps an up to date timeline of activities. She works with the Public Relations Chair to discuss achievement reports. The secretary also has the names and contact information of all executive board members and the faculty advisor, as well as copies of important documents. The PUBLIC RELATIONS CHAIR conducts external communication and outreach to students not currently in the club. She keeps track of the S.T.A.R.S. requirements, and informs the executive board of progress. The Public Relations Chair will oversee all social media accounts and affiliated websites (i.e. OwlConnect, YouTube, Vimeo, Facebook, Twitter, Instagram). She records account usernames and passwords so the executive board and faculty advisor can easily access them online (OwlBox). Section 2 Nomination Qualifications Nominees for office must be an undergraduate student. Members that show interest and have been an active member for at least (1) full year/(2) consecutive academic semesters can run for all offices barring President and Vice President. The positions of President and Vice President must be filled by current E Board members who have attended all executive board meetings. Votes will be held for both elections by the end of the spring semester. Voting will be open to all active members. Section 3 Office Term Term of office shall be (1) one academic year for all offices. No term of office can exceed more than (3) three academic years. Section 4 Removal of an Officer Provisions for removal of an officer include actions including the following: disruptive conduct, neglecting duties, direct oppositional behavior toward the morals of Mise en Femme Productions and Temple University. Direct complaints from more than 3 members of the club will result in a hearing followed by an executive board vote to determine member status. ARTICLE VI- ELECTIONS Section 1: Election Procedures Elections may be called by vote of the general membership, and initiated by anyone who has held any position for two consecutive semesters. If agreed upon, candidates may nominate themselves for consideration, members may nominate candidates, and voting will be conducted for each position through a secret ballot. Graduating seniors will not be able to vote in the election. Section 2: Filling Unexpected Vacancies If a vacancy appears suddenly, then officers may elect a new officer themselves to fill it, through unanimous decision. Members do not have any say in filling unexpected vacancies.

4 ARTICLE VII MEETINGS Section 1 Regular meetings of this club shall be held once a week for one and a half hours on a chosen week day. Each semester officers will consult members for new meeting time using a poll to meet with as many members class schedules as possible. Meeting times may be subject to changes due to workshops or the availability of guest speakers. In the case of workshops, meetings may be longer than one and a half hour or the club will organize another day in the week to operate the workshop separately from regular meetings. In the case of guest speakers, meetings will also either be longer than usual or be moved to another separate day in the week. Section 2 When making a decision in a meeting, the decision will be reached using an online poll so that if a member could not make it to the meeting, she could still vote remotely. The secretary is responsible for writing recaps for all meetings so that all members can keep track of decisions being made by the club. In case of circumstances needing immediate decisions, officers must discuss among each other and send out an to the entire club regarding the final settlement. The final resolutions lie under the entire club s responsibility, therefore, if financial or legal matters are involved, all members who have participated in voting must be liable. ARTICLE VIII ADVISORS Section 1 Advisor Regulations One advisor, who is a full time staff member, is required for one academic year. Up to two advisors shall be members ex officiof54fdd with no voting privileges. Section 2 Selection of Advisor The faculty advisor shall be selected based on a vote by the executive board. The advisor will be approached before the end of spring semester to ensure availability for the following school year. Section 3 Advisor Responsibilities The advisor shall be responsible for meeting with at least one member of the executive board at least once a semester. An advisor is expected to be supportive, be knowledgeable in a given aspect of filmmaking, or general interest in the club itself and related disciplines. They will be expected to act as a guest speaker at least once a semester, promote the club, aide in finding various networks in Philadelphia, and be involved in the processes of the executive board. ARTICLE IX DISBURSEMENT OF FUNDS Section 1 Approval for Disbursement of funds All disbursements of funds must be approved by the president, vice president, treasurer, and advisors. Section 2 Reimbursement Reimbursement of expenditures will only be accepted for members who have retained an original, itemized receipt and a description of the expenses incurred. Section 3 Expenditure Any expenditure in excess of $ must be approved by a majority of the organization officers. Section 4 Transactions

5 All financial transactions of the organization will be managed through Student Activities. The president, vice president, and treasurer will have access to this account. ARTICLE X AMENDMENTS Section 1 The constitution may be amended by a majority vote of the members and the officers. In order for an amendment to be made, there must be at least 15 members to make a vote. If an active member views any part of the constitution as unjust and/or non constitutional, they have the right to voice their opinions and ask for a change. The executive board will hold a meeting with the club members and vote for any final changes to the constitution at the end of each year.
