1 CAMPBELLSPORT SCHOOL DISTRICT NOTICE OF BOARD OF EDUCATION MEETING Eden Elementary School Music Room 210 North Elizabeth Street Eden WI Monday, January 22, :30 p.m. This meeting is a meeting of the Board of Education in public for the purpose of conducting the School District s business and is not to be considered a public community meeting. There is a time for public participation during the meeting as indicated in the agenda. MISSION STATEMENT The mission of the Campbellsport School District is to develop each child into an adult who can stand confidently, participate fully, learn continually, and contribute meaningfully to our world. VISION STATEMENT The Campbellsport School District strives to create a safe and respectful school community where collaboration and professionalism promote the development of an inquisitive student body engaged in a challenging, dynamic curriculum enhanced by meaningful technology. 1. Adjourn This notice may be supplemented with additions to the agenda that come to the attention of the board prior to the meeting. A final agenda will be posted and provided to the media no later than 24 hours prior to the meeting or no later than 2 hours prior to the meeting in the event of an emergency. Upon request to the District Administrator, submitted twenty-four (24) hours in advance, the District shall make reasonable accommodation including the provision of informational material in an alternative format for a disabled person to be able to attend this meeting. 7 Expenses, Payroll and Receipts: Item 8 Date: January 22, 2018 The purpose of this report is to review budgetary checks, payroll and receipts for the period of December 1 December 31, Attached is the summary of expenditures, payroll and receipts for the prior month. If you have any questions, please contact Shelley at prior to the Board Meeting. 8 Board Reports: Item 9(a) Date: January 22, 2018 Board committee chairs will update the full Board on proceedings at recent meetings. 9 Administrative Reports: Items 9(b) Date: January 22, 2018 The District Administrator will update the Board on programs and activities in the school district. Board members should seek clarification on the items reported and prepare questions pertaining to the reports. Athletic Director: Mr. Griesemer will report on Middle School Impact Testing. District Administrator: Mr. Amundson will give a general report on school operations including: Calendar Development State Education Convention District Administrator Evaluation Building Project Update: Mr. Amundson will update the board on the building project. 10 Policies: Item 11(a) Date: January 22, 2018 The purpose of this report is to make a recommendation regarding semi-annual policy updates. Wisconsin local semiannual policy updates were released in December 2017, have been reviewed by the Policy Committee and should be reviewed by the full Board. Please review the enclosed list. Copies of the proposed policies are available on BoardDocs. Review policy list. First reading of this group of policies. Discussion.

11 Tech Ed Purchase Options: Item 11(b) Date: January 22, 2018 Purchasing a portion of Tech Ed equipment requires a decision be made determining manner of payment. With Tech Ed there is a large capital outlay of equipment. One means is to purchase the $300,000 of equipment outright or to lease it. The Board requested at its December meeting to check into the lease option. Purchase involves no interest but uses revenue on balances while a lease spreads expenditures out over years. A lease option will cost the District over $8,500 in fees and interest. Also a lease commits a set dollar amount out of the budget each year of over $15,000 for the five years. See payment schedule. 12 Budget Timeline/Quarterly Review: Item 11(c) Date: January 22, 2018 Late winter the budget process starts by preparing the calendar for development and final adoption. Review the quarterly update. By setting a timeline, specific intermediate growth is attained in a logical thoughtful way. Quarterly review of the budget. Discussion only. 13 School Calendar: Item 11(d) Date: January 22, 2018 The purpose of this discussion is to gather input from the Board in the process. The District Leadership Team (school administrators and teaching staff) have been queried regarding their preferences for parent/teacher conference times, professional development days and school breaks. 15 Parent Transportation Contracts: Item 11(f) Date: January 22, 2018 Parent transportation contracts for student attending private schools. According to WI Statutes school districts are responsible for transporting students to private schools within five miles of the District boundaries. With recent changes in private schools this is the first year this opportunity is available for some parents. Approve as presented. Discussion/vote.
