2 VI. BOARD AND SUPERINTENDENT REPORTS A. Lenape Vocational Technical School Mrs. Wenckowski s report covered the following topics: i. There are 121 students currently enrolled in the LPN program. ii. A craft show is scheduled for November 3-4 to benefit the Life Skills trip to Hershey iii. Accepted several grants including a $10,000 Workforce Development Board Internship Grant iv. Approved Conferences/Workshops/Field Trips; Disposal of Equipment; the First Reading of Policies 103, 104, and 819.1; adopted Policy 204; and added one instructional substitute. B. ARIN Intermediate Unit #28 No report given in Mrs. Ross s absence C. Legislation Mr. Fetterman presented information on Senate Bill 2 regarding Education Savings Accounts for Students in Underperforming Schools. D. Apollo-Ridge Education Foundation Mr. Duso provided details on the following topics i. Innovative Projects Grants were distributed to 4 requestors by Mrs. Ivory, AREF Treasurer ii. Mosaic Open House November 16, 5-7PM: The public is invited to place tiles onto the concrete board. iii. Final preparations are taking place for the 4 th Annual Gala/Silent Auction which is on-track to raise $18,000 for STEM + A-Rts education for our students. iv. Students in grades 4-12 are invited to submit drawings for the annual Holiday Card Design Contest. The deadline is November 15. E. Superintendent Report (Dr. Matthew E. Finance Resolution A-1 Be it resolved that the Apollo-Ridge Board approves payment of District Bills for the period September 22 through October 20, 2017 in the amount of $703,932.73, and the Treasurer s Report for September Resolution A-2 Be it resolved that the Apollo-Ridge Board approves a memorandum of understanding with the PA Department of Health to use the high school as a Point of Dispensing (POD) in the event of a crisis situation as marked Exhibit A-2. Be it resolved that the Apollo-Ridge Board approves Finance resolutions A-1 and A-2. Resolution B-3 Be it resolved that the Apollo-Ridge Board approves student teacher placements as marked Exhibit B-3. Resolution B-4 Be it resolved that the Apollo-Ridge Board approves a change in status for Mr. William Gromley from part-time custodian to fulltime custodian effective October 24, 2017, with salary and benefits per the SEIU Local 32BJ agreement. Resolution B-5 Be it resolved that the Apollo-Ridge Board approves Mr. Jason Wensel, Leechburg, as a part-time (4 hour) custodian, effective October 24, 2017, with salary and benefits per the SEIU Local 32BJ agreement, pending receipt of Acts 34, 114, 151, and 168 clearances.
