1 Oklahoma State Senate 0 0 WHEREAS, pursuant to Section A of Article V of the Constitution of the State of Oklahoma, the Legislature may be called into special session by a written call signed by two-thirds of the members of the Senate and by two-thirds of the members of the House of Representatives. When the call is filed with the President Pro Tempore of the Senate and with the Speaker of the House of Representatives, they must convene a special session; and WHEREAS, in the execution of duties of the Office of Governor for the State of Oklahoma, there have been numerous legislative measures that were vetoed or otherwise not allowed to become law between the years 0 and 0. There are instances where the Legislature is not allowed to address the veto. As a result, there are policy issues that may have been otherwise allowed to become law through the exercise of the powers vested in the Legislature as representatives of the people of this state; WHEREAS, in order to assess the impact of the laws duly passed by the representatives of the people, an opportunity for the Legislature to review and address those laws that were vetoed Req. 2 0 0 between 0 and 0 should be authorized through a special session of the Oklahoma Legislature and be given the consideration and action to become the law of the state as the Legislature deems necessary. NOW, THEREFORE, we, the undersigned members of the Senate and House of Representatives, pursuant to Section A of Article V, of the Constitution of Oklahoma, hereby:. Call for the convening of a special session of the Oklahoma Legislature; and. Request the President Pro Tempore of the Senate and the Speaker of the House of Representatives to issue their joint order convening the special session; and. Direct the purpose of the call be limited to a vote to override any vetoed measure of the th Oklahoma Legislature and consideration of subjects contained in all the measures between 0 and 0, as referenced in the attached list of measures, that were vetoed by the Governor and were not otherwise overridden by the Legislature or later passed by the Legislature and approved by the Governor; and. Direct that the call and order be spread upon the pages of the journals of the Senate and of the House of Representatives: Req. No. SSLTR0 Page
