New Business (Discussion and possible action) The DCCC is unable to discuss or take action on items not on this agenda when those discussions pertain to matters within the jurisdiction of the San Francisco Board of Supervisors. The limited exception is to discuss and take action in deciding whether to calendar such items for a future meeting. 10. General Public Comment Public Comment began at 6:43 pm Susan Pfeiffer (Red to Blue SF) Welcomed everyone to office, 7 campaigns where people can 4

5 make calls in Red to Blue office, including Jessica Morse in CD4, Josh Harder in CD10, TJ Cox in CD21, Katie Hill in CD25, Gil Cisneros in CD39, Katie Porter in CD45, Harley Rouda in CD48, Mike Levin in CD49; Muriel MacDonald (Skip) one of electric scooter companies awarded to operate in SF, introduced self and company. Public Comment ended at 6:46 pm 5. Reports a) Chair (Campos) - Chair Campos thanked Leader Pelosi for her support for Red to Blue; spoke about slate card program and inclusive process, thanked slate card committee for reviewing, will have Chinese and Spanish cards; Member T. Hsieh requested that copies of slate cards be sent out to members by pdf; Member DeJesus requested that endorsements be ed out, Member Gallotta stated that there would be full court press on social media and , endorsements have been on the website since last meeting, and will be mobilized, thanks for raising money to get card out; Chair Campos will make sure to share donors to slate card, currently donations are from candidates, ballot measures, and labor b) Finance (DeJesus) - has been supporting Chair by leading effort with Red to Blue, thanked the Kevins and Susan P. and her volunteer crew, has been publicizing, getting student volunteers, working on getting clubs to sign up with a contest to get them to volunteer, and update social media sites, emergency response s based on current politics, special events included Women s night; Kevin Bard spoke about proposed events, boozy brunch during Castro Street fair, Halloween Costume contest phone bank, 10/11 political trivia night, drag queen phone bank, comedy night, LGBT, Young Dems, LDC, Latin@ Young Dems; hours: phone/text banking 5pm-8pm open everyday from noon-8pm, Saturdays 10am - 8pm, 2390 Market Street at Castro, ; Chair Campos read a letter he received from Melania Trump c) Voter Registration (Baraka) - National Voter Registration Day report, Victor Olivieri joined at CCSF outreach, registered 37, SF State outreach registered 5; created QR code, would like more involvement from clubs d) Club Chartering (Gupta) - echoed encouragement of clubs to join with phone/text banking and voter registration; working on advice to clubs on what to do when candidates pull out of races e) Outreach (LaCroix) - talked about SFDCCC outreach program, Saturday, 9/29 - D2, Saturday, 10/1 - D10, Sunday, 10/7 - D4; 10/13 - D8 and BOE; 10/13, 5-7 pm with PPNC & D2, Member Cohen requested repeat of date for D10 activities, Member Maxwell asked about D6, Member LaCroix stated that it went well with Member Gallotta supporting to flip Republicans to support and that there will be an upcoming phone bank; Chair Campos stated that additional literature will be printed for distribution since we ran out last time; Member DeJesus requested smaller palm cards for bus stop visibility, Member Alexander asked about morning visibility schedule, which will be announced with slate cards are printed f) Treasurer (Alexander) - reviewed accounts, federal account: $15,757.53, state account: $7,067.05, noted that previous month reports were also included and gave breakdown of expenses g) Partnerships (Maxwell) - this office is dynamic and full, partners are coming out to join, we are the blue and the left, come out and be that blue h) Committees - no report 5

6 i) Executive Director (Mehis) - gave time to Dan Bernal to recognize volunteers: Susan Pfeiffer, Alec Bash, David Blue; SFLC will have meeting here in October; Candidates have been here to support work j) CDP Region 6 Update (Kelly) - no report 6. Update and Presentation on Proposition 1, the Veterans and Affordable Housing Bond Act of 2018 (Campos) Presentation by Peter Cohen from Council of Community Housing Organizations (CCHO), thanked for support and spoke about history of measure as a part of package of bills, this was SB-3 in September of last year, growing campaign over 600 endorses from Chamber of Commerces to progressive organization, over 350 in Bay Area alone, polling strongly in Bay Area and Los Angeles; this campaign has also adopted Prop 2 which bonding authority for previously passed Millionaire's Tax; first round of mail should be coming out, broad based support in San Francisco, this is a package of housing solutions, Propositions 1, 2, 10 and in San Francisco that includes Prop C 7. New Business Members Gupta and F. Hsieh presented a birthday cake for Mary Jung and David Campos and the room sang. 8. 7 Resolution Declaring Solidarity with the Union Strike of Marriott Workers and Respect for the Picket Line and Boycott Sponsors: Alexander, Gallotta WHEREAS, housekeepers, cooks, greeters and other hotel workers in over 26 U.S. cities are on strike at the Marriott Hotel chain; and WHEREAS, the wealth disparities in this country have led to a historic wealth inequality and a growing gap between the very wealthy and everybody else, leading many workers to have more than one job, sometimes more that two jobs; and WHEREAS, sexual harassment against hotel workers and restaurant workers is not a condition of work and is unacceptable; and therefore BE IT RESOLVED, the San Francisco Democratic Party declares that one job should be enough and calls on the Marriott Hotel chain to negotiate in good faith with their workers and end the strike; and BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that the San Francisco Democratic Party declares solidarity with the boycott and strike of the Marriott and calls on all Democrats to support the striking workers and honor the picket line and the boycott. 7
