1 Constitution Amendments Proposal Article VIII, Section 4, Sub-section B, Paragraphs The President-Elect shall be elected by a simple majority of those voting members present at the annual business meeting. 2. The President-Elect must be in good standing as a State Licensed Athletic Trainer, NATA member, and 3. The term of office of the President-Elect shall be for two years, and he/she may not serve more than one concurrent term. 4. Quorum for each region is defined as 1/20 th of the VATA voting members in that region. 2. On July 1, the elected region representative will begin a six-month shadowing of the current region representative until he/she takes office. 3. The Regional Representatives must be State Licensed members of the VATA and in good standing with the NATA. 4. The term of office of the regional representative shall begin at the time of the annual business meeting of the 5. The term of office of the regional representative shall be two years. Article IX, Section 3 A quorum for a vote shall be considered 1/20th of the voting membership. A simple majority of the members present is required to pass measures brought to a vote by the VATA Executive Council.
4 VIRGINIA ATHLETIC TRAINERS ASSOCIATION A quorum for a vote shall be considered 1/20 th of the membership with voting rights. A simply majority of the votes cast electronically is required to pass measures brought to a vote by the VATA Executive Council. Some changes typos cleaned up Article III, Section 1 Bylaws Amendments Proposal Officers of the VATA shall be elected by a simple majority of the voting members present at the annual business meeting. Officers of the VATA shall be elected by a simple majority of the voting members using an electronic vote in May. Elected officers will begin shadowing the current officer on July 1, and will officially take office at the conclusion of the annual business meeting in January. Article III, Section 3 Election shall be by secret ballot unless there is but one candidate for the office. In this instance, a voice vote may be called for. The nominee receiving the majority vote shall be declared elected. Reballoting shall be held in the event of a failure to obtain a majority vote. Remove current language Article V, Section 1, Sub-section B, Paragraph 9 The President may submit appropriate items of VATA business to the Executive Council or membership for a vote by mail, physical or electronic. For such voting purposes, the President shall first secure a "second" to the proposal and then submit the proposal to each member of the Executive Council by mail. Executive Council members will be requested to mail back a "yes" or "no" vote on the proposal by a definite date not sooner than ten days after the mailing of the proposal. Executive Council approval of the items thus submitted shall require a "yes" vote of at least five members.
5 The President may submit appropriate items of VATA business to the Executive Council or membership for a vote by mail, physical or electronic. For such voting purposes, the President shall first secure a "second" to the proposal and then submit the proposal to each member of the Executive Council electronically or by mail. Executive Council members will be requested to electronically or mail back a "yes" or "no" vote on the proposal by a definite date not sooner than ten days after the mailing of the proposal. Executive Council approval of the items thus submitted shall require a "yes" vote of at least five members. Article VI, Section 4, Sub-section F None Proposed Addition: F.
