This is not only highlighted by the difficulties to find to unequivocal messages in global bodies in this regard, but also starkly illustrated by persisting inequalities and the success of reactionary movements in countries where equality of men and women has long been constitutionally and/or legally embraced. The first session will provide a context from global perspective, also highlighting the role of the G20 in this context and prospects for the upcoming Argentinian presidency. As the 2017 G20 president, Germany has actively championed global health and reproductive care, but the state of reproductive health and rights in a rapidly evolving global environment calls for more international efforts in this space. To achieve the desired empowerment and equality, private actors need to step up, too. What are good examples of voluntary corporate actions that positively influenced policy processes?
