Answer the Following in a word or in a sentences: By persuading people to give up old practices and adopt a new way of life. Organic farming is defined as the type of farming in which organic manures and natural pesticides are used and no genetic modifications are done to increase the yield of the crop per hectare. 3. Plantation agriculture is a pattern of farming wherein a particular crop is grown is grown in a large scale. 4. The term minority is most commonly used to refer to communities that are numerically small in relation to the rest of the population 5. Marginalization means the communities small in number are put at margins of economic and cultural developments. II. Answer the following questions in brief: Various social reformers used ancient texts to convince th people about the need for polishing certain social evils. Quoatation from ancient texts gave weight to their arguments The Begums started a primary school for girls at Aligarh. Economic and social marginalization are interlinked: The minorities are rendered marginalised economically because they are not allowed access to the benefits of economic developments When there is no economic development, the minorities do not develop socially. Hence they remain backward. IV. Answer the Following questions in Detail: Most children were married off at an early age. Both Hindu and Muslim men could marry more than one wife. In some parts of the country, widows were praised if they chose death by burning themselves on the funeral pyres of their husbands.
