2 To those interested in the history of the Bisbee Fire Department. We have put together all the information that we have. If you have additional information, articles, photos, etc. we would be very interested in adding them to this collection. Please contact Al Ring, to make arrangements. We do not have to keep any of the items. We scan copies and return or you can scan them of copy them and mail or them. Make it easy on yourself. A special thanks to Snoody Borowiec for all the help in gathering information and photos for the history of the Bisbee/Lowell/Warren Fire Departments.

3 Pictures of horse drawn fire wagon in front of fire stations #1 taken April This is date Bisbee Fire Department retired the 4 horses Dot, Kid, Mike and Prince and their Billy goat and received their new motor-driven apparatus. Bisbee #1 Station: Check out the goat Billy standing between the two firemen on fire wagon.

4 Lowell Fire Station, I know man seated in front in the middle between two men kneeling (both have white shirts and ties on) light colored shirt and pants legs crossed Frank Kasun, lst fireman in uniform with hat is McKewon, my uncle Bill McKeown's brother. Those two firemen were paid- Volunteers the rest of them. This building was located where the pit is now.

6 About 1970 Bisbee Fire Station #2 up Tombstone Canyon Notice how narrow streets are and that is reason for narrow built fire trucks.. that are still used today on old Bisbee streets.!

9 The man standing on running board is John Hughes, Bisbee Fire Chief. love the old American LaFrance Engine.. We (City of Bisbee) still have two of them. Willcox Fire Department borrowed our 3rd one and never returned it. This picture is taken at the #2 Station up Tombstone Canyon. Two big American LaFrance fire engines! Which Bisbee still has in our pump house up on Tombstone Canyon. Bernard W. Norton was Fire Chief at this date in history

10 Taken January 2, 2016 Bisbee Fire Station #1 in old Bisbee It s history is included in that stuff from Deloris at the Mining Museum. Original Bell still in Bell Tower Notice all the ornate touches in architecture I think this building was designed by Trost, but not for sure.

11 Love all the original old iron work that is still in good shape in/on this building Bisbee Fire Station and Bisbee Police Station right next to it!.. City Hall was upstairs of Police Building and large staircase up to 2nd floor entrance was right there in middle of Fire Station.. firemen s sleeping quarters/kitchen of course located in upstairs of Fire Station.

12 History of this building is printed and hangs on outside of #1 Station. You can see it in picture of building on right side of middle door.

Bisbee firefighter Robert Tanner, house fire 1970 Here is story that came with picture: This is photo of me when I was on the Bisbee Fire Department. You may see I have a worried look on my face. 10 ft. in front of me is a house fully engulfed in flames. This fire was above Garden Avenue. In old Bisbee. I retired from the fire dept in 86. No water for his hose, photo came out in Bisbee Observer.

18 July 4, 1908, at contest Dry Test, Hose Cart Race, Arizona State Fair. Gorgeous silver trophy won by Bisbee Fire hose cart team.. 4th of July.. picture to right of trophy is there at mouth of Brewery Gulch.. This picture and trophy and the hose cart are located in the Bisbee Restoration Museum there on Main Street (Old Fair Store-up from your grandparents jewelry store).

28 Courtesy Christine Rhodes: My father, Doc Macnab, and Ernie with the original Naco Fire Department Volunteers! The picture of the Naco Fire Dept, was taken in 1959 in front of the Old Custom House there in Naco, AZ. and the budget for FD was between $7-8,000 a year at that time. Their first fire truck was a Studebaker, this information was given to me Thursday, Cinco de Mayo by Ernie Rogers, member pictured in that photo. Ernie served as Naco Fire Chief for 16 years. Always has been a volunteer fire department. Pictured are standing: Wilfred Marinez,? Denogean, Perry Schuck, Manny Rodriquez, John Maurich, Fred Valenzuela, Glen Holgerson, Doc McNab, Armando Valenzuela, Ernie Rogers, Bill Dillon, Roberto Bernal. Standing behind up on trucks: Anthony Quetel, Tony Metzler, Jim Willson, Jack Hogan, Tony Salazar, Jimmy Quijida & last two men I will have to get their names. 1st Fire Chief was Fred Valenzuela. Current Chief is Manuel Rodriquez. Ernie said that in their fire house located behind the Papagayo Club in Naco is a large picture of these 1959 Fire men and so I will try to get down there and get names plus any other pictures or information about this volunteer fire department.

29 May 30, 2016, Memorial Day ceremony: Chief Marc Burneleit, 3 of the men got called to an emergency during the ceremony.

30 June 11, 2016, Memorial Day ceremony: 2002 Bisbee Anniversary Picture of Bisbee Fire Dept s La France Fire Truck that was driven from garage to Warren-Arizona Street in front of City Hall 118 Arizona Street. That s Fire Chief Jack Earnest, yours truly Snoody Borowiec, Sue Cook Ray and I don t know the names of the two firemen but will try to get them identified. The City celebrated this 100th Anniversary big time that year.
