3 Overview The Government Services Client Handbook is developed by the Corporate Relations Office whose scope of work is to support clients and their employees to navigate the visa process and transition to Abu Dhabi. We work closely with relevant government authorities to provide a streamlined, simple process from a single point of contact. Once obtained, Fawri Account can be created All companies are required to apply for a Farwi account to be able to sponsor employees The visa application has a number of set steps that must be completed including obtaining health insurance Once an individual has a residence visa they can sponsor family members or domestic helps in order to obtain a visa. 8 Getting Started Establishment Card Establishment Card Will allow you to apply for services related to Visas. The Original establishment card will remain under the Corporate Relations Office at ADGM to assist clients in all visa related services. Eligibility To be eligible for an Establishment card you must hold a valid commercial license issued by ADGM Registration Authority. Required documents: 1. Completed Application Form 2. Valid ADGM license 3. Copy of Tenancy contract stamped 4. Previous card (for renewal) Renewing Establishment Card The Establishment Card is valid for 3 years. Companies holding expired Establishment Cards will not be allowed to submit any visa related applications at the Corporate Relations Office. New/Renew Service Fee (AED) Timeline Standard 1,000 4 days Please note: You will be informed once the application for the establishment card has been approved, however the establishment card will remain with the Corporate Relations team of ADGM. This will allow for the team to deliver more streamlined visa application processes for applicants. 6 Page

9 Getting Started FawriAccount Fawri Account A Fawri account supports online submission for Employment Residence Visa applications. To be eligible for a Fawri account you must have a valid Establishment Card. The Fawri registration process is managed by Corporate Relations Office of ADGM. Service Type Service Fee (AED) Timeline Standard 4,000 4 days Bank Guarantee 5,000 Please note: You will be informed once your Fawri Account is established, however this account will be managed by Corporate Relations team of ADGM. 7 Page

11 Visa services Once a company has obtained the commercial license, establishment card and the Fawri account, they will now be able to apply for Visas(through ADGM Corporate Support Team) on behalf of their employees that are based in ADGM on AL Maryah island. The following Visas are available in order to live or work in the UAE 1. Employment Residence Visa 2. Family and Domestic Helps Residence Visa In order to obtain a completed Residence Visa each client must go through the following 5 steps: 1. Entry Permit 2. Medical Test 3. Emirates ID 4. Health Insurance 5. Residence Visa Eligibility To be eligible for an employment visa, you must have an offer of employment from a company existing on Al Maryah Island which has a valid establishment card with ADGM. In addition, visa transformation is not applicable at ADGM (except for persons currently sponsored by Abu Dhabi Government entity) therefore all current visa s not at ADGM must be cancelled before applying. 9 Page

12 Visa Services Employment Residence Visa (3 years) Required Documents To be submitted as part of Stage 1 (Entry Permit): 1. Completed application form 2. Coloured passport copy 3. Salary Certificate stamped and signed 1 month valid 4. Original Photo with white background, size 4.3 cm x 5.5cm Conditions: Outside UAE Once an employment permit is issued to an individual, he/she must enter the UAE within 60 calendar days of the date of issue on the entry permit and can t leave the country before the issuance of the Residence Visa unless cancellation for this permit is requested. Inside UAE Once an entry permit is issued to an individual inside the UAE he/she must apply for a Change of Visa Status. Once the entry permit is issued, the employer is required within 60 calendar days to submit the original passport to the Corporate Relations Office in order to process his/her Emirates ID application form and schedule a medical fitness test. Required Documents To be submitted as part of Stage 2 (Employment Residence Visa): 1. Medical Fit Results (will be managed by the Corporate Relations Office please view Medical Fit Test section of this document) 2. Original passport 3. Emirates ID application form (will be managed by the Corporate Relations Office please view Emirates ID section of this document) 4. Copy of Health Insurance Card (The Health insurance policy should be handled by the Client. 13 Visa Services Dependents Sponsorship Dependents Sponsorship Applicable for new residence visas for immediate family member (spouse and children) or domestic helper of ADGM sponsored Employee Check-list Dependents File Sponsor s Signature Sponsors are required complete the checklist of the points listed below prior to applying for any dependents visa. 1. The net salary should be equal or greater than AED 5,000 with accommodation. 2. The Visa and Passport should be valid for more than (3) months from the date of submission. 3. For daughters above the age 20, an official letter confirming their marital status is required. 4. For son above the age 18, sponsorship is not possible (Immigration department rule) Sponsors are required to open a file prior to applying for any dependents visa if it s their first time to Sponsor in Abu Dhabi. Fees: 250 AED One time payment Sponsors are required to sign the Immigration application form once the Corporate Relations Team inform them it s ready for signature after completing all requirements and payment at ADGM. Application forms won t be ed, the sponsor must physically visit ADGM building for signing. 11 Page

Coloured passport copy for Sponsor with residence visa stamp page 3. Coloured passport copy for Dependent 4. Original salary certificate of the Sponsor stamped and signed 1 month valid 5. Copy of latest electricity and water bills under sponsor s name 6. Attested tenancy contract (Tawtheeq or Ejari) 7. Dependents birth or marriage certificates translated to Arabic. (Originals should be presented upon submission of application at Immigration department) 8. Photo(s) with white background, size 4.3 cm x 5.5cm Required Documents to be submitted as part of Stage 2 Residence Visa 1. Original Passport 2. Medical Fit Results for dependents above Emirates ID application form 4. 15 Visa Services Domestic Helps Residence Visa Applicable to ADGM sponsored employees who wish to sponsor a visa for domestic helpers, such as housemaids, babysitters, drivers, and cooks etc. Required Documents to submitted : 1. Completed application form 2. Coloured passport copy for Sponsor with residence visa stamp page 3. Coloured passport copy for Dependent 4. Sponsor s salary certificate 5. Dependent salary minimum 1,000 AED 6. Copy of latest electricity and water bills under sponsor s name 7. Attested tenancy contract (Tawtheeq) 8. Photo(s) x2 with white background, size 4.3 cm x 5.5cm 9. In case the domestic helper is of the same nationality as of the sponsor, a Non relative status should be declared by submitting the related documents issued and attested from home country Required Documents to be submitted as part of Stage 2 Residence Visa 1. 16 Other Visa Services Visa Cancellation Applicable to individuals who wish to cancel their Employment visa Required Documents for Visa Cancellation: 1. Completed application form 2. Original passport 3. Original Emirates ID card Change of Visa Status Applicable to individuals who wish to amend their visa status after cancelling it, instead of leaving the UAE and re entering with the Entry Permit. Required Documents for Change of Visa Status: 1. Completed application form 2. Original passport 3. Original Entry permit Conditions: Upon cancellation the individual is allowed to remain in the UAE for 30 calendar days only from the date of the visa cancellation to change his/her status or leave the country. Failure to complete the change of status/exit after the 30 day grace period will result in fines. Dependents visas should be cancelled prior to cancelling the sponsor s visa. 18 Support Services Medical Test and Emirates ID Medical Test and Emirates ID Applicable to individuals that are sponsored by ADGM and need support services in order to obtain a Residence Visa. Conditions: To avoid Emirates ID application cancellation, please make sure to apply for residence visa within 10 days of the application form. 19 Support Services Health Insurance Certificate Eligibility To be eligible to issue a Health Insurance Certificate you must hold valid medical test results and Emirates ID application form.
