10 Results related to Hungary Qualitative results: Change in the type of the migrant and migration: Foreigners coming to Hungary Békés county population moving to other parts of the country (mainly Budapest) Young professionals leaving the county for other parts of Hungary Young professionals (especially doctors) leaving the country for UK, Norvegia etc. 10
11 Results related to Hungary Qualitative results: Change in the type of the migrant and migration: Secondary school pupils (especially from Transdanubia) leaving the country for Austria, where education is cheaper GCSE graduates leaving the country for universities abroad where tuition is cheaper Though not a form of migration, but preparing it in the long run, increase in candidacy for ERASMUS scholarships Moving abroad for any type of work, whether qualified or not! 11
12 Results related to Hungary Qualitative results: Impact of and on education as far as migration is concerned: Subject content and financial changes of the public/vocational/professional education at all levels New legislation passed by Parliament in December 2011 covering all areas of activity Decreasing the age limit for compulsory education High procentage of population with only 8 classes Increasing the age limit for retirement 12

Statistical data have been taken from the Hungarian Statistics Office and the 2011 census. 14
