5 ! UNHCR Representative s Speech The UNHCR representative expressed amazement at the work Real Medicine Foundation has accomplished in Kiryandongo Refugee Settlement by improving people s livelihoods through equipping them with essential skills in tailoring and garment cutting, hairdressing and beauty therapy, bricklaying and concrete practice, and carpentry and joinery. He stressed the need for introducing new courses that would further benefit the community, such as automotive mechanics, so that more of the youth are engaged.! Settlement Commandant s Speech The Settlement Commandant was extremely impressed by the work of a young person who had graduated from PVTI within a period of three months and could now create products that would sell on a competitive market. Given the circumstances, the Settlement Commandant pointed out the importance of their handiwork to graduates in the market who cannot find a job because they lack the essential skills needed in a given field. He thanked RMF s team in Kiryandongo for their committed efforts to ensure that peoples livelihoods are improved and thanked the organization as a whole for their commitment to bringing services to Kiryandongo Refugee Settlement.! Award of Certificates Certificates were awarded to PVTI s graduating students by the Settlement Commandant and PVTI Principal Ms. Teddy Nakyagaba.
