3 Guidelines for the NCMs co-operation with Estonia, Latvia and Lithuania 2014 Priorities: *Education, research and innovation *Business and creative industries *Environment, climate and energy, including environmental conditions in the Baltic Sea and renewable sources of energy *Combating human trafficking and the spread of HIV/AIDS; improving co-operation between police forces; developing hospital services; addressing demographic challenges, e.g. labour-market policy. *Cross-border regional co-operation to promote joint fundamental values, such as democracy, good governance, gender equality, freedom of speech and tolerance both under Nordic Baltic auspices and in relation to other neighbouring countries, including Belarus.

8 Funding for Nordic-Baltic research projects on user-driven innovation in health and welfare NordForsk, in collaboration with The Swedish Governmental Agency for Innovation Systems (VINNOVA), the Icelandic Centre for Research (RANNÍS), the Research Council of Lithuania (LMT), and the Estonian Research Council (ETAg), is launching a call for proposals for funding for Nordic-Baltic research projects. The total budget for the call is NOK 11 million. Proposals should be submitted electronically through NordForsk Application Portal no later than 4 February
