Q13. Do you have any other comments that you would like to offer regarding transportation in Kaufman County? 1 Need major road improvements not just on major roads. All of the residential roads are hazardous. Especially over in the Crestview /Main St area. Apr 2, :03 AM 2 There should be traffic be traffic lights at I-20 & fm740,fm741, &fm1641. Mar 29, :37 PM 3 Please repair CR 271 potholes and entrance from FM 987 Mar 26, :28 PM 4 as soon as you come in from another county you can tell where the county lines are due to the condition of Kaufman County Roads Mar 26, :33 AM 5 I am not sure why we need to pay for tolls when we already pay county taxes to these items and then have to pay again.. Mar 26, :02 AM 6 Fix choke points around RR crossings. Better planning of traffic flow is needed. Expand lanes on existing roads. Pothole repair. Mar 26, :26 AM 7 Widen us 80 from Forney to 635 Mar 26, :04 AM 8 Would like to see George Bush brought this way Mar 25, :34 PM 9 More thought and emphasis on design of traffic flow in heavy traveled areas so we don't have to spend tax dollars a short time later to adjust or expand. Mar 25, :03 PM 10 no Mar 24, :40 PM 11 It's much better to build the infrastructure first (i.e., adequate roadways, parking, etc.) when planning new development - commercial or residential - than to retrofit solutions once the area is over-congested and unsafe. I think some of the infrastructure cost burden should be placed on the developers up-front because it's their proposed changes that will tax existing systems was just repaved and we already have issues/ potholes less than 2 week later. They were using sack concrete. UI couldn't believe it when I seen it. What a waste of money - wonder who approved work! 13 SH 205 NEEDS TO BE WIDENED FROM TERRELL TO ROCKWALL!!! NEED TO PAVE COLQUITT RD. BETWEEN FM 548 AND FM NEED TRAFFIC LIGHT AT FM 548 AND SH Road expansion is a major issue. We have many 2 lane roads with apartments and houses being built with no regard for road congestion. Will mass transit help this, probably not. You just add buses to the mic now. 28 Q13. Do you have any other comments that you would like to offer regarding transportation in Kaufman County? 15 Forney is a big bottleneck for traffic. Anything that would improve traffic in that area would benefit the entire county. Mar 24, :07 AM 16 PLEASE do not bring public transportation to Kaufman county. That was the main reason we left the last town we lived in. Mar 23, :47 PM 17 The county roads have deteriorated to the point that many are barely passable. Mar 23, :44 PM 18 In and near Forney, there are some US 80 entrance and exit ramps that are very outdated and dangerous to use; for instance, at FM 460, the eastbound entrance ramp is very short and there is no shoulder at the end. I've seen numerous collisions there. US 80 could also use frontage roads over the East Fork of the Trinity River. 19 FM 1641 needs to be widened to multiple lanes. Traffic is steadily increasing on this road. Also, the intersections at FM 1641, FM 548 and HWY 80 cause a great deal of congestion during rush hour and anytime a train comes through town. It would be nice if there were a way to address alleviating this congestion. Mar 23, :23 PM Mar 23, :11 AM 20 On ramp at the Knox in Forney getting on 80 heading East. Way to short and way to many accidents. Mar 23, :34 AM 21 Based on your concept plan, FM 548 needs to be four lanes to I20 not reduce to two lanes at the intersection on FM740. Mar 23, :08 AM 22 I am having to replace tires very often due to road conditions the roads are unsafe and need to be fixed right away! Mar 23, :39 AM 23 More rooftops will require better county and state road enhancements. Mar 21, :48 AM 24 The roads are not maintained especially in my neighborhood and that is tearing my cars up. Mar 20, :40 AM 25 Please fix back roads they are very unsafe makes living in the country very frustrating to the point of wanting to move Mar 19, :45 PM 26 Let's get started Mar 19, :06 PM 27 South Terrell residential streets are in bad shape. A lot of congestion Burnett school. Drop off and pick up at Burnett are bad and also trying to attend an event at this school -- so crowded and almost 0 parking available. Kennedy also has very limited parking when trying to attend an event/school parties. New drop-off/pick-up lane at Kennedy is great! Mar 18, :20 AM 28 Kaufman county is a nice place to live, please do not destroy it by trying to make it like dallas Mar 16, :42 PM 29 The roads in our county need to be improved "before" the influx of new homes reaches our area. Think ahead and have the roads here when the people arrive. Mar 16, :05 PM 30 roads need to be taken better care of such as potholes, etc. Mar 16, :34 AM 65 of 71

Q13. Do you have any other comments that you would like to offer regarding transportation in Kaufman County? 31 Road repairs are very slow. Once a project is begun the workers disappear for a week at a time. The project needs to be worked on continuously. Mar 16, :07 AM 32 Need more lanes on Highway 80. Get ready for growth. Mar 14, :04 PM 33 Roads are terrible and repairs have not kept up with the deterioration Mar 13, :34 PM 34 Repairs should be done correctly the first time. Contractors building/repairing roads should have to come back and properly repair roads at their cost they built/repaired if they don't hold up for reasonable periods of time. Some sort of warranty on new roads/road repairs might force them to get it right the first time. 35 We are a rural county. To bring mass rail here would disrupt farmlands, destroy the beauty of the country landscape, and ruin the peace and quiet of our community. I don't believe people will use it in numbers large enough to pay for itself. There are better ways to spend tax payer money. 36 County Road conditions have improved over the 20 years I've lived here, but with more people we need more more improved roads. 37 Griffith Avenue in Terrell is in terrible condition (embarrassing) & a very heavily traveled east-west thoroughfare/street thru the interior of the city. Something needs to be there to make it a safer & better maintained street. Traffic Hwy 205 & Hwy 80 is bad & with the new median thru town it is very difficult to be heading east & then go back west i.e. to Las Hermanos. Hwy Airport Road needs additional night-time lighting. Mar 13, :18 AM Mar 12, :16 PM Mar 12, :31 PM Mar 12, :10 PM 38 more patrols by law enforcement agencies. Mar 12, :59 PM 39 Hwy 205 MUST be widened to four lanes!!! Mar 12, :58 PM 40 Star Transportation fares are too high. They need to reconfigure their fares. Many of their passengers using them are seniors and low income customers. These customers are barely able to afford Star's current rates. 41 Kaufman county is on the back burner in Texas. Our Hwy's are no longer repaired, but allowed to deteriorate until they require a costly replacement. Hwy 34 shoud become part of the next outer loop for DFW. Decatur to Mansfield to Midlothian to Ennis to Terrell to Greenville and back to Decatur. 42 the county roads were much better back 9 or 10 yrs, they would grade them once a month, now they hot top them you can see them start deteriorating in 2 weeks Mar 12, :16 PM Mar 12, :57 PM Mar 12, :21 PM 43 traffic flow around Forney is terrible at 548 and from there to 80 is horrible. 80 from Lawson to 740 is lethal. really Mar 11, :55 PM 66 of 71

Q13. Do you have any other comments that you would like to offer regarding transportation in Kaufman County? need a clean n-s route from 20 to 80 in Forney. 44 Kaufman county roads are the most poorly designed and constructed I've ever seen! There are very few roads with shoulders, which are crucial for safety. I'm not sure any of the roads are designed properly for needed drainage to keep the roads in better condition, nor do very many of them have proper ditches for drainage! Mar 11, :54 PM 45 no Mar 11, :37 PM 46. Mar 11, :07 PM 47. Mar 11, :06 PM 48 County roads need the most attention. Mar 11, :26 AM 49 The state is out of road money for local county repairs ( i.e. county road repair) and has shifted that expense burden to the local residents using deceptive bond tactics. The county residents have been duped into thinking recent road bonds will fix our local county roads which has proved to be false. Almost all recent bond money will be used to repair TX-DOT roads which they have always had that burden of debt. Now the residents are paying for those repairs with local bond money waiting on a long range pay-back and paying the burden of interest expense in the interim. Mar 11, :07 AM 50 i hate toll roads and do NOT want them. I also dont want the highway in my backyard. Mar 10, :02 PM 51 Pavement conditions are lousy at best they borderline unsafe roads not constructed for amount and kind of traffic we now have in Kaufman Co.now Mar 10, :37 AM 52 Need advance warning signs for county roads. Need to clean litter up on road sides. Mar 9, :25 PM 53 Rural roads for most part are in bad need of repair...hwy 34 from Scurry to Terrell a death trap...desperate need for 4 lanes...and certainly need guard rails along road in the low lands between Scurry and Kaufman. 54 A main issue for me coming into Kaufman county from Ellis County is the danger with all of the trucks that travel HWY 34, particularly the gravel trucks. Mar 9, :47 PM Mar 9, :16 PM 55 county road are terrible, need immediate upgrades and they could relieve some congestion and safety issues Mar 9, :48 AM 56 Please do not bring public transportation to Kaufman. Look at Mesquite, and the decline it has seen in the last years. It is a fact that public transportation contributed to its decline! Mar 9, :52 AM 67 of 71

Q13. Do you have any other comments that you would like to offer regarding transportation in Kaufman County? 57 County roads are a disaster; they only seem to be repaired during commissioner elections. Mar 9, :44 AM 58 The non highway roads are unsafe and for example TRUNK st in Crandall tx is one large pothole and is completely unusable. The part that needs work is owned by the County.. It caused quite a bit of damage to our car several years ago and so we no longer use it.. Mar 8, :31 PM 59 More cement roads! Especially in 740/460 area. Mar 8, :16 AM 60 I think getting access to North Dallas will be important for the communities to grow as it appears a lot of the high tech jobs are in that area. 61 There seems to be daily wrecks in Forney 548 & 741,more speed control needed, close entrance & exit hwy 80 & 460, to short wrecks all the time 62 FM 2578 needs complete renovation due to steady stream of gravel trucks in route from HWY 34 to Forney area. It is very dangerous 63 Kaufman County just needs better road maintenance. Congestion on I 30, I 20 and 175 entering into and out Kaufman county mainly stems from poor road movement management in Dallas. Highway 548 had poor engineering and that seems to be the biggest problem area so far as congestion is concerned than anywhere else in Kaufman County. Mar 7, :40 PM Mar 7, :53 PM Mar 7, :22 PM Mar 7, :48 PM 64 Rail line to connect to other rail lines in Dallas. Mar 7, :47 PM 65 I would certainly use DART rail, or something similar, if it came to Kaufman county - for access to Dallas shopping, travel (airports), etc. Mar 7, :23 PM 66 entrance ramp to east 80 is dangerous due to the bridge with no shoulder. Mar 7, :16 PM 67 My son is 19 and we live in Oak Grove and he works at Walmart, It would be nice if he could have buses that ran frm walmart to out hom. He is unable to drive. He could walk but because of no shoulders ont he routes he would have to walk it is not safe for him. If Star Transit had buses that ran to the area on a regular basis that would be awesome Mar 7, :37 AM 68 Very poor County Road conditions. Mar 7, :07 AM 69 We just need someone to fix our County Roads!!! And a commisioner that will actually return calls... I dare anyone to drive down cr 146 and cr 147 Mar 7, :23 AM 70 Don't know if this is applicable here but conversion of the preset precinct county road system to the unit road system Mar 7, :00 AM 68 of 71

Q13. Do you have any other comments that you would like to offer regarding transportation in Kaufman County? would save $ and be more efficient if done correctly. 71 Get rid of the cameras. We don't need them here. You don't have to take every federal dollar thrown at you. Mar 7, :31 AM 72 Rural roads are neglected by County and state Mar 6, :47 PM 73 Kaufman County Roads suck...55 million dollars North of 20 not real happy with.. Mar 6, :23 PM 74 Fix the roads we already have... build only the roads that we truly need and do NOT over spend to do either. Mar 6, :31 PM 75 Kaufman County does not need a separate public transportation system, it needs to be integrated into DART. Mar 6, :47 PM 76 Please Pave our roads Pot Holes are more common than smooth pavement on residential streets in Scurry. Mar 6, :40 PM 77 Interested in DART light rail service from Forney. Mar 6, :38 PM 78 Our pavement scores are the worst in the state we need more pressure put on TXDOT Mar 6, :38 PM 79 Houston street is a very popular town attraction during Halloween but the street conditions are very poor. This makes the city of Kaufman look bad. Mar 6, :30 PM 80 Complete Kings Fort Parkway by the time the new SH 34 is opened in November 2016 Mar 6, :21 PM 81 I would like to see minimum speed limits posted and enforced. Mar 6, :15 PM 82 Yes, what was the joke on 2727 all about? Poor crew, under budget? Mar 6, :09 PM 83 Until the congestion can be eased on Hwy 243, Hwy 34, Washington Street and Rand Road for school traffic in the mornings and evenings, there should be more stop lights or more 4 way stops. 84 Something needs to be done around Monday Primary and Phillips Elementary. The roads are horrible. Also just patching 2727 and country roads the way that is currently being done is just a waste of money since it is messed up immediately after it rains. 85 Hwy80 needs to be widend. Access/Exit ramps need to be re-configured for current speeds. Clements and Hwy 80 has a wreck once a week or more due to the east entrance ramp configuration. Mar 6, :07 PM Mar 6, :17 PM Mar 6, :07 PM 86 Hwy80 needs to be widend. Access/Exit ramps need to be re-configured for current speeds. Clements and Hwy 80 has Mar 6, :06 PM 69 of 71

Q13. Do you have any other comments that you would like to offer regarding transportation in Kaufman County? a wreck once a week or more due to the east entrance ramp configuration. 87 With the economic developments within Kaufman, I am in favor of getting some of the heaviest traffic and trucks out of the city itself. I'm happy to see the bypass coming and feel the people in charge are doing a good job at anticipating county transportation needs. 88 Whenever we have icy conditions, it would be nice if Kaufman County had a plan that would allow for residential area roads and highways (bridges & under passes) to be treated. Mar 6, :11 AM Mar 6, :41 AM 89 The need to get to other service areas is great. Mar 6, :17 AM 90 Exit at hwy 34 from east bound 175 service road needs a solid white line for editing traffic to avoid crossing into east bound service road traffic. A major traffic saftey issue. 91 Exit at hwy 34 from east bound 175 service road needs a solid white line for editing traffic to avoid crossing into east bound service road traffic. A major traffic saftey issue. 92 Local city streets around 2 of Kaufman's elementary schools are pothole ridden and unexceptable. I'm surprised I haven't incurred damage to my car from trying to get to school. Also, county roads are even worse. They do cause vehicle damage. Mar 6, :46 AM Mar 6, :46 AM Mar 6, :01 AM 93 why is county taxes used to fix txdot roads and not county roads Mar 6, :39 AM 94 I wish our county commissioners would spend our tax dollars more wisely on our roads. I wish they would actually do more long term fixes on our roads, rather than quick patch jobs that don't last but a few months. 95 Would like to see school zone lights flashing at the correct times, and have the Times posted. Keep service road on 175 in Kaufman 2 way. 96 Oklahoma may benefit economically from DART Rail before Kaufman County does. Connections to the Dallas central business district need vast improvements via roads & rail systems. Thank you, Travis Buster Mar 5, :21 PM Mar 5, :45 PM Mar 4, :03 PM 97 the roads are tearing my car up Mar 4, :57 PM 98 The worse county roads in North Texas. I have traveled most counties in this part of the state and by far the worse roads are in Kaufman County. I know, it's partly a funding thing, but if the commissioner's would get out of the road building business, hire someone that knows how to prioritize the roads and actually build on this black dirt, then that would be a big step forward. Commissioner's should be administrators. Let's quit doing the same thing over and over. Mar 4, :42 PM 70 of 71

Q13. Do you have any other comments that you would like to offer regarding transportation in Kaufman County? 99 Sidewalks would be nice Mar 4, :01 PM 100 FM and particularly CR roads generally range from poor/unsafe to barely adequate. Newspaper delivery was suspended due to CR road condition. First Responders and emergency services are reported to be concerned with road conditions and visitors from outside of the area are critical of the roads. From my perspective, many of our roads are no better than and are in many cases inferior in comparison to many 3rd world roads. My concern is that the longer we wait to address this deficiency the more it is ultimately going to cost. Mar 4, :25 AM 101 public transportation would be a great asset to Kaufman County Mar 4, :00 AM 102 The roads in Kaufman County is horrible when it comes to pot holes and side of the roads. Don't need to say more than Abner Rd... it is amazing that the school bus can still go there... accidents to come... Mar 4, :47 AM 103 Fix the county roads along with the city roads. Mar 4, :46 AM 104 The road surfaces of FM and state highways are deplorable. Mar 4, :41 AM 105 Public transportation such as commuter rail service would greatly help relieve congestion on the roads, and make it more appealing for employers to come to our area. Most of the residents of Kaufman county don't work here, and a reliable method of public transportation, or additional/alternate roadways would help alleviate the congestion on the current major highways. With the growth in the Forney area, we need more roads. 106 County commissioners should track traffic counts and the appropriate roads brought up to state hiway standards. specifically 4095 used as short cut from Hwy 34 to Hwy 175 Mar 4, :57 AM Mar 4, :46 AM 107 A lot of county roads need improvement Mar 3, :25 PM 108 You guys are severly behind! Mar 3, :19 PM 109 Please don't widen Helms trail. Mar 3, :50 PM 71 of 71
