CALL TO ORDER The Chairman called the meeting to order at 4:15 p.m. 2. ADOPTION OF MINUTES.1 Regular Meeting of Council - July 17, 1995 Moved by Councillor Warawa, seconded by Councillor Robertson, that the minutes of the Regular meeting of Council held July 17, 1995, be adopted. R CARRIED..2 Public Hearing - July 17, 1995 Moved by Councillor Sweeney, seconded by Councillor Peary, that the minutes of a Public Hearing held July 17, 1995, be received. R CARRIED.
2 :15 p.m. in the Matsqui Centennial Auditorium Page 2 3. BUSINESS OUT OF MINUTES.1 Bel-Vue Developments Ltd., blk. Marshall Road File No.: D95-11 Report No dated July 21, 1995 from the Deputy Approving Officer recommended approval of Development Permit No for property located at block Marshall Road. This development permit provides for acceptable siltation control measures, and a project design which complies with Lower Sumas Mountain Road Development Permit Area. The owners have agreed to the contents of the permit and surrounding property owners and occupiers had been notified that they may comment on the proposal. There were no comments or questions. Moved by Councillor Wiebe, seconded by Councillor Funk that, as recommended in Report No from the Deputy Approving Officer, Development Permit No be approved for issuance. R CARRIED. 4. DELEGATIONS.1 M. Bielz - Commuter Bus Service M. Bielz stated that he has applied to the Motor Carrier Commission for authority to provide transit service between Chilliwack and Vancouver for commuters as well as other travellers. He is in the process of purchasing buses. His proposal would see an express run of two buses in the morning for commuters starting in Chilliwack, picking up in Abbotsford, continuing to the Park and Ride at 200th Street in Langley, and then into Vancouver. There would be a total of four buses going into Vancouver in the morning and four returning later in the day, with the last bus leaving Vancouver at 8:00 p.m. The tentative start date for this service is September 1, M. Bielz noted the environmental benefits of bus service, which reduces the number of cars on the road.

Bielz asked for assistance from the City in providing a Park and Ride facility, and requested Council's support of his application to the Commission. Moved by Councillor Sweeney, seconded by Councillor Ross, that: (1) the delegation of M. Bielz be received; (2) the City assist in establishing a Park and Ride facility; and (3) a letter of support be sent to the Motor Carrier Commission stating the need for this service. 11 :15 p.m. in the Matsqui Centennial Auditorium Page 11.2 Informix Software (Canada) Inc. - Relational Database Management System Software and Technical Services - Tender Ross that, as recommended in Report No from the Purchasing Manager, supply and delivery of relational database management system software and technical services be awarded to Informix Software (Canada) Inc., in the amount of $47,401, including taxes. Opposed: Councillor Funk.3 Mop Magic Cleaners - Janitorial Contract - Clearbrook Library.4 Bill 55 Moved by Councillor Sweeney, seconded by Councillor Robertson that, as recommended in Report No. 93 from the Manager, Engineering Services, Mop Magic Cleaners be retained as the janitorial contractor of the new Clearbrook Library for a monthly fee of $1,344 for the remainder of R CARRIED.
