1 THE UNIVERSITY OF MELBOURNE ARCHIVES NAME OF COLLECTION Frazer, Margaret ACCESSION NO 93/158 CATEGORY ACTIVITY Other, individuals Political activists DATE RANGE SIZE OF COLLECTION HISTORICAL NOTE DATE OF TRANSFER ACCESS CONDITIONS DESCRIPTION 7 archive boxes Margaret and Jim Frazer were Scottish immigrants who became involved in the Peace movement and had a particular interest in peace culture. Jim Frazer was secretary of the Victorian Branch of the Australian Railways Union Open Papers, booklets and press clippings relating to the Peace and Anti-War movements from the mid 1950s up to the mid-1980s. The collection was compiled in part by the late Reverend rman Anderson, Congregational minister of Castlemaine. Much of the anti-war material is related to the campaign against the Vietnam War, conscription, the sufferings of the Vietnamese people and war crimes including a collection of papers given at the 1971 National Anti-War Conference of the Vietnam Moratorium Campaign. Leaflets and organizational papers relate to meetings rallies and campaigns by CICD, PND and MAUM against nuclear weapons and nuclear power. A folder of notices relate to the art displays (including the Hiroshima Panels), film showings and concerts staged by the Peace movement. The Collection holds two book manuscripts by Ralph Gibson along with accompanying notes and clippings: The Fight Goes On and The People Stand Up - and two chapters of a third manuscript.
