7 2017 (Traditional Indian Painting and Sculpture) 1. Institution: In this prospectus Akademi will be meant for Kalidasa Sanskrit Akademi, Ujjain which is working under Madhya Pradesh Sanskriti Parishad, Bhopal. 2. Subject: RAGHUVANSHAM is decided as the subject of National Kalidasa Exhibition for the year, Raghuvansham of Kalidasa is an internationally well-known poetry composition. Artists may base their creation after going through the description of any event or scene of this work. Although inspired by the artistic perception of Kalidasa, the artists are expected that it should be an original and new painting/sculpture. 3. Style: The exhibit should be an original and fresh creation of the artist. The exhibit prepared in traditional Indian Conventional style (For example, Kishangarh, Rajaputana, Madhubani, Moghal, Kangra etc.) or Traditional Indian folk (Rural) style only be accepted in the exhibition. The exhibits of contemporary and experimental style will not be accepted. The exhibits created after November, 2016 only will be accepted. In regard of style, the decision of Jury of experts would be final. 4. Prizes: Total five prizes Rs.51,000/- each (Rs. Fifty one thousand) will be awarded in the competition. Four prizes for painting exhibits and one prize for sculpture exhibit are fixed for the awards. These prizes only will be awarded by the Akademi and No other prizes or appreciation certificate etc will be awarded but only after the approval from Competent Authority of Madhya Pradesh Sanskriti Parishad Bhopal, other sponsor prizes may be distributed additionally. An artist who received the prize earlier, will not be eligible to obtain the prize up to three years from the year of award.

8 Prizes will be distributed in the valedictory function of the Kalidasa Festival at Ujjain on 6 November, Only the artists who invited to receive the prizes will be provided the local hospitality and A.C. second class rail fair on the production of ticket, otherwise second class rail fair from their residence to Ujjain. Akademi is entirely empowered to declare or not to declare the awards. 5. Last Date: Enclosed entry-form should reach the Akademi by Friday 15 Sepetember and the last date for the reaching of exhibits is Monday 18 Sepetember Exhibits will not be accepted in any condition after the last date. 6. Exhibits: In any case, the exhibit must not exceed 1 X 1 meter in size. Painting should have durable frame without the glass. Painting without frame will not be accepted. Sculpture exhibit should generally be made of durable material such as stone, marble, metal or wood only. Any painting or sculpture displayed in any earlier exhibition will not be accepted. More than two exhibits will not be accepted for the competition. The duly filled enclosed label must be pasted on exhibits. Mentioning of the name of artist, address, title of the exhibit, medium, style, size and requisites quote reference along with the signature of the artist on the label is compulsory. Akademi reserves the right to exhibit or not to exhibit the exhibits in different parts of the country. Akademi will have the right to reproduce exhibits accepted for exhibition. Exhibit marked 'Not for competition' will also be placed before the Jury. Only on the basis of their recommendation, it will be exhibited. In their own interest and for the security of the exhibit, artists should get the exhibit insured. Under no circumstances Akademi would be liable to any damage caused before arrival and after return of the exhibit. Akademi has the right to reject any exhibit if it is against the rules. 7. Entry Form: A brief bio-data with the photograph of the artist should be attached with the entry form. The present and permanent address with telephone numbers etc. should be written

9 legibly. Mention of the title, medium, style, size and quote reference, along with the signature of the artist in the entry form is compulsory. Incomplete entry-form will be cancelled. If any one needed admit card other than Bodhika he may Download Admit card directly from website of kalidasacademy 8. Entry Fee: Entry fee of Rs. 200/- ( Rs. Two Hundred only) through Demand Draft only, in favor of Director, Kalidasa Sanskrit Akademi, Ujjain must be enclosed with the entry form, in the absence of which the entry form will be rejected. Cash amount will not be accepted. 9. Deposit of Exhibits: Exhibit must be deposited personally or through a representative. The same may be dispatched by rail, road transport, courier or post also. Depositing the exhibit intact in Akademi will be the responsibility of the artist. 10. Return of Exhibits: Mainly Artist will have the responsibility of collecting the exhibit. As per convenience, exhibits received through courier or railway will be packed and returned as far as possible within three months after the exhibition by Akademi to the artists in the same cover in which they were received, provided that the artist has already paid the amount for the returning of the exhibit Rs.600/- (Rs. Six Hundred only) for one exhibit and Rs.1000/- (Rs. One Thousand only) for two exhibits. This amount will be accepted by Demand Draft only. The exhibit will be sent back only when Demand Draft is received by the the Akademi. Due to some unavoidable reason, if an exhibit could not be sent with in the stipulated time, the collection of exhibit will be the responsibility of the artist. In this condition the amount will be refunded which deposited for sending back the exhibit. The artist who deposit the exhibits personally or through their representative, they must collect the exhibits with in three month after the completion of the Exhibition, after that Akademi will not liable for any damage of exhibits.

Selection: A Jury of experts will be constituted by the Director of Kalidasa Sanskrit Akademi. The exhibits and entry form, which are not according to the rules, will not be submitted before the jury. The Jury of expert will select the exhibits for the exhibition and prizes. The jury will decide keeping the fact in mind that the amount of the prize in not divisible. Akademi is entirely authorized in regard of the declaration and distribution of the prizes. Awarded exhibits will be treated as the property of Akademi. Decision of the Jury will be final and binding. In the case of any dispute, the judicial jurisdiction of court will be Ujjain ( M.P.). 12. Awarded Exhibits : Awarded exhibits in the competition of National Kalidasa Exhibition 2017 will be treated as the property of Akademi. These will not be returned. 13. Sale : Selected exhibit for exhibition may be sold, but 15% of the sale amount of the exhibit shall be payable to Akademi. 14. Catalogue: A free copy of the catalogue of National Kalidasa Exhibition, 2017 will be provided to all participants.
