CMC organized monthly meeting and discussed on camp issues in presence of women and youth group representatives. There are 4 (3 female) new born babies in the month of November. 2 IDPs deaths were reported. Education In the camp, Save the Children international (SCI) is supporting for 3 TLS and assigned 15 volunteer teachers. Among 15 teachers; 5 are paid by Government, 5 are paid Incentive Workers and 5 are unpaid volunteers. The 5 requently ask for remuneration. The CMC member say that teachers come and go but do not teach properly. CMC requested to provide a Middle School and a TLS. 1

2 CAMP SITUATION Report November 2014 Food nutrition and Consortium Dutch NGO's (CDN) distributed food ration on 2, October, In total, 395 households (total populations is 1,790) received the food ration. CMC requested to include new born population in ration list. Health Services International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC) provided transportation facilities for emergency patients. CMC requested to increase clinical service time in camp. ICRC responded that they have Government Department of Health provided polio vaccination for plan to increase in under than 5 children and pregnant women on 3 November. 83 (36 female) under 5 children and 57 pregnant women benefitted. Myanmar of Health dependents had taken polio vaccination for on NFIs No any activity regarding NFI in the camp. IDPs requested to provide Mosquito Net, winter clothes, cooking utensils with food store gallon and iron box. Shelter Infrastructures in camps were assessed. 42 shelters out of 52 were found partial damage and need repair. Similarly drainage system in the camp is need improvement. WASH Save the Children International (SCI) organized a 5 days long cleaning (drain, gutter and road) campaign. Save the Children International (SCI) has been monitored condition of toilets and hand pumps once in every week. Save the Children International (SCI) has been provided ceramic filter for this month in the camp. Similarly, WASH awareness training for mother groups were accomplished by SCI. LWF will provide repair and maintenance support within December. SCI will organize health education awareness training for children and mothers as well to protect from cholera in the camp. 2

Management Department participated. LWF facilitated an Inter-agency meeting on 20 th November. In the meeting, 15 (9 Female) and LWF participated and discussed on issues as well as shared information. LWF received one complaint letter through CRM box on 25 November Incentive Workers were oriented and mobilized for the month to collect family information and paid their wages on 25 th November. LWF staffs organized an information campaign on 16 days activism against violence against women and girls. Education NFE centre is not operating well due to lack of appropriate learning IDP requested to provide appropriate space. There are 99 (28 female) NFE participants and 2 teachers are facilitating the centers. structure and facilities for NFE centre. IDP also requested to provide middle school student kit. Food nutrition and Save the Children International (SCI) accomplished food ration (rice and salt for half month) on 11 November Similarly, remaining item (pulse, oil etc) were distributed on 21 November Health Myanmar Red Cross Society (MRCS) provided first Aid training on ( to ) to 10 (5 females) participants.. ICRC conducted first Aid training on November CMC member shared that rice was not good for this month. So IDPs sold rice and procured good quality.. ACF has a plan to provide pregnant women care centre.

4 CAMP SITUATION Report November 2014 NFIs Shelter WASH ACF had door to door psychosocial consultation support on 4 November. ACF staffs lead had psychosocial support individual counselling household by household on 19 November. Oxfam provided 3 bathing soaps and 1 dozen washing soaps to 151 household on 5 November. LWF provided shelter maintenance materials for Shelter no 6 and accomplished renovation on 12 November. Oxfam accomplished water tank cleaning on 16 November, cleaning campaign on 21 November. Incentive Worker shared that water is not enough during the month and drainage system is block now. IDPs request good blankets and warm clothes more for winter. CMC members said that there were 72 families in camp. After 1 year, 2 families went to Yangon, Now, 1 family returned in the camp. Inadequate bathing space. 4

Chief Minister distributed MMK (5000) per family on 22 November. Incentive Workers were oriented and mobilized to collect family information and paid their wages on 25 th November. Education LWF, UNICEF and Department of Education have been education for NFE students. NFE teachers suggested to NFE participants for regular attendance in coming summer. 5 They are request need student kits for primary student. IDP students attending BEMS (26)and BEHS (2) have difficulty for

6 CMC said that some students will go for work because they have a problem for their livelihood so they can't attend regularly. Hence, CDN staffs instructed them to keep updated list. Health ACF staffs consulted with lactating mothers about psychosocial / Mental Health on 11 November.. Department of Health vaccinated to the lactating women on SCI distributed flask (bottle) to the lactating mothers on ICRC accomplished 4 days first aid training for 10 (5 female) on On , new mobile clinic commenced by MOH. Clinic will open between 9:00 am to 12:00 noon from Monday to Friday. The clinical services will be provided by Department of Health for 3 days, Mercy Malaysia one day and ICRC one day. NFIs None to report Shelter Now they are in good condition. WASH Host community also started to fetch water from the camp source and IDP could not receive enough water. transport charges to go school. IDPs are requesting for additional support for their livelihood. IDP requested to verify population and provide food accordingly. Chairmen request to appoint the midwife for the camp. They said that hospital staffs don't care IDP family. Midwife is not serving community since long time. For the first time midwife comes in the camp, care pregnant woman five days per week, latter she comes two days per week. There are no women bathing room in the camp 6

Mr. Roland from Geneva and Mr. David, Regional Representative from LWF observed the meeting.. Incentive Workers requested to increase their wages for coming year. CCCM, LWF recruited an additional incentive worker at KDK 1, the job vacancy was announced on 24th Nov 2014 and around 6 candidates apply this position. CCCM, LWF took part in the camp level Inter-agency meeting where 44 (23 Females) representatives from CMC, CDN, Mercy Malaysia, Teachers, Community Service, EiE and CCCCM from LWF participated and shared information,. Incentive Workers were paid wages on 25th of November There are 10 children (4 Females) born in November and no any death case during the month. There are three modular houses which are provided by the government but rest two are not in use. LWF discussed with CMCs, YDG and WDG about the recreational actives for children (11-17 years) and 16 days activism against the violence against women and girls on 26th Nov The survey of Person with Disabilities needs has been initiated. Education LWF announced vacancy for IDP teaching Incentive Workers. From the camp following number of students are studying: 7 The new CMC chairman is also a CDN camp-based Incentive Worker. The issue has been raised with the Township Administrator. CMC claimed that around 90 % of IDP has no livelihood it means that they could not make any small business at KDK 1. The rest of 10 % are general workers such as trishaw puller and tailoring. CMCs requested to provide skill and vocational training and support to run business. The distance to Thet Kae Pyin BEMS is a serious concern among IDPs, thus denying

It is informed that LWF will renovate 4 TLSs. Food CDN provided food ration which include rice, oil, salt, bean, wheat blended food and rice to 262 Households, 1347 population on 1st October 2014.However, there are 399 Households and 1997 population (1062 females), CMCs report that there are 11 IDP families which do not receive the food ration from food agency. However, they have already given the list to the government department and CDN, food supply agency and requested to take action. CCCM, LWF claimed that WFP is distributing the ration based on previous approved list effort is initiated to update the population. It is informed that LWF will renovate the warehouse within December and discuss with CMCs about this. some children an opportunity to progress. CMCs request to appoint more teachers because the current numbers is not sufficient. It is reported that School s latrine is totally damaged. Teachers request to provide school s furniture and student kits. It is reported that the headmaster abuse other teachers and conflict almost every day. There are 3 members of a family working as teacher. IDPs in KDK have epeatedly asked for cooking fuel and register new baby to get food from WFP. IDPs have also requested to support with other food stuff such as dry fish, chilies, onions, potatoes, sugar and coffee mix. Besides, there are 63 IDP families which have to go to other camps to collect their ration. 21 families are receiving from Dai Paing, 31families from Thae Chaung, 9 families from Tha Kay Pyin, 1 from Baw Du Pa and 1 from OTG 1 and spending transportation cost. Hence, CMC frequently requested to provide food from their camp, Khaung Doke Khar 1 8

9 Health MMA trained and mobilizing a mid-wife to provide health care service to pregnant women from MMA. ACF in close coordination with MMA, assisting malnourished children in the camp. It is observed that the rate of malnourished is decreasing. Mercy Malaysia provided transportation services to get treatment in emergency situation. Mercy Malaysia accomplished test of dengue fever, malaria, typhoid and HIV positive in the camp. There are 70 patients which have been cured by Mercy Malaysia. CMC members have asked for a proper hospital with a laboratory to test such as tuberculosis and HIV. CMC members raised the need of camp women health worker to serve pregnant and delivery and appropriate heath consultation. NFIs NFI Core kits were last distributed by LWF in June CMC and IDP requested to provide solar light, NFI items and regularize it. Shelter 25 shelters amongst 50 are damaged and CMC asked for repair on time. LWF informed that some shelter will be repaired within December. Roofing sheet, wall and floors are partially damaged and need repair. WASH CMC requested to CDN to provide WASH kit for 399 HH instead of 390. There are 33 water points, 10 for drinking are totally damaged. As a consequence, difficult to fetch adequate quantity of water and compelled to go far away. It is informed that CDN have a plan to repair 6 bathrooms and 4 hand pumps in the coming years. All of the bathrooms are extremely damaged. So women get difficulties. Therefore they request to repair them as soon as possible. Need to repair 5 water points as soon as possible. CMC request to build 1 waste management point and 1 trash burning point. 9

LWF Community Service Team consulted with CMC and Youth Group to organize recreational activity in the camps and collected participants list. Incentive Workers were paid their wages on 25th of November There are 5 children (3 Females) born in November and no any death case reported. CCCM, LWF request to CMC and fire volunteers to reinstall and maintain the fire safety equipment in ready to use condition. An assessment on context and need of People living with disability initiated in the month. Education Save the children is assisting education program in the camps. There are 1 TLS which have 368 students and 3 teachers (2 females) and teaching in 3 shifts. However, the chairperson requests to appoint 3 more teachers. IDP family did not receive any student kits this year of 2014 education. There are 2 TLS which are extremely damaged.. 10 CMC claimed that around 90 % of IDP has no livelihood it means that they could not make any small business. The rest of 10 % are general workers such as trishaw puller in Thae Chaung. The chairperson informed that that CFS constructed by government is finished but handover process is not initiated yet.. The chairperson requested to increase incentive of teacher considering their qualification. IDPs in KDK 2 say they need 1 more TLS, more teachers, student kits, Teachers kits, School furniture and drinking water pots. The distance from camp to

11 Food WFP distributed food ration on 3rd November 2014 for 1340 populations who receive food ration since December There are 128 families who do not receive food ration since 25 th August. These families are self-shifted from other camp and not in government records. However Myanmar Recourse Foundation, distributed food ration to those who do not receive food from WFP thrice a year. CCCM claimed that the update of register have to confirm by the government and then WFP can distribute food. Health IRC trained 12 participants (2 females) with knowledge, skill and method to test Malaria, Pneumonia, and Diarrhea and Typhoid diseases. In weekends, IRC assisted medical service in the camp for emergency need. There is one midwife who is trained by the Save the Children and providing service as per need. Provided medical service for 80 people in average per day. Thet Kae Pyin BEMS is a serious concern among IDPs, thus denying some children an opportunity to progress. CMC members have asked for a Middle Education School at Manzi or other suitable place. IDPs in KDK have also repeatedly asked for firewood to cook food and to register new babies to get food from WFP. CMCs request to get food ration such as nutrition for new born babies. CMC requested to provide some special distribution for disabilities. CMC members have asked for regular health service and treatment of chronic disease as well as elderly people. CMC members pointed out the importance of having a nurse in the camp to assist even during delivery at night. The camp leader request to have an access to test Tuberculosis and radiography services. 11

NFI Core kits were last distributed by LWF in June They requested to access the solar energy, under wear Shelter CCCM, LWF informed that the multipurpose repair work will be completed within December. LWF also suggested CMC to make appropriate use of construction.. Most of the shelter s foundation posts are damaged. especially women. The noticeboard which is built by UNHCR is damaged. CMCs request to repair the post of the shelters WASH SI provided garbage collection points for solid waste management. SI, informed that it has a plan to distribute water filter in the camp. SI will build 18 hand washing stands. SI has a plan to build solar light for 8 9 latrines during next year. SI will provide laundry slab and build wash room which will be public usage or individual shelter in the next year plan. 13 Sector Updates Key Concerns Camp Coordination On 12 th Nov, 2014, ICRC staff had met with household members of imprisoned persons and discussed on IDPs have been facing problem to pay money to land owners. and Camp situation. Camp is very dark at night. It is very dangerous Management Inter-agency meeting was conducted on 17th especially for women, children and old persons. November 2014 and attended by 38 (18 Female) representatives from CMC, DRC and CDN participated. ACCCMO from LWF requested to CMC and agencies representatives for coordination and collaboration for effective camp management. On 3th week of November, household s survey has been initiated by CCCM, LWF. There are 2 Incentive Worker who resigned and shifted to Yangon. Education LWF is operating 9 TLSs through 27 (10 female) community teachers, 6 CFSs under the care of 18 (8 female) Animators and 4 Non Formal Education (NFE) sessions through 2 NFE facilitators in each center. Food and nutrition CMCs also supporting Education Activity to develop for students. 2 teachers (from Kyauk Phu Group) have transferred to Yangon. On 5 th Nov, 2014, CDN/WFP and Distribution Committees conducted a dialogue with IDPs and CMCs and discussed on problem and challenges regarding food issues. On 12 th Nov, 2014, CDN/WFP and Distribution Committee distributed food ration (Pulse, Blended foods, salt and rice) for half month. CDN/WFP shared information regarding change of food distribution point from Baw Du Pha (2) to OTG (baw du Pha) Camp. In Ohn Taw Gyi (5), 73 IDPs household are receiving only rice till now. 13 CMCs explained that, School teachers are irregular in their duty and suggested regular attendance and teach to students. IDPs and Teachers requested for Myanmar Text books for Students and furniture for appropriate learning environment. There are (5) people in School Committees and requested for watchman for school security. CMC requested to provide a Middle School. CDN explained that, they are distributing for 5996 populations (1037 HH) and totally distribution quantity of rice are 809 bags and 23 kg (1 bag = 50 kg), IDPs and CMCs requested cooperation between CMC and Food Distribution Committee for effective camp management. Till now all the camp committees are working separately and lack of integrated structure. The warehouse is damaged. Health Health service is providing by MHAA from 9 to 12 am. Inadequate health service.

14 There is one health clinic for south and north in the OTG (north), but that clinic service is not enough for the population of the camp. Clinic opening hour and the number of patients are unbalance. Doctor could check very few patients during opening hours from 9:00 to 12:00 A.M. If there is an emergency patient, they have to go to the Dar Paing or Thet kae Pyin hospital. NFIs No any NFI activities since February in the camp. IDPs requested to provide blanket since cold season is approaching. IDPs would like to receive NFI Kits (Mosquito net, Warm Clothing, Blanket, Cooking pot and Family kits. Shelter LWF is repairing shelters Some shelters need repair WASH LWF accomplished WASH stock taking and submitted the report to UNICEF. Variation in IDP families and population. On 11 th Nov 2014, DRC distributed Hygiene Kits (4) items in the camp. DRC informed that they will assess the latrines and take appropriate action as required. CMC and Incentive staff shared information that there are totally 425 latrines in which 85 latrines are damaged partially. 63 water points are in camps in which 32 water points need repair. 45 bathrooms are in camp and all are damaged. CMC explained that big size families are occupying 2 rooms. 14

LWF made inter agency meeting on November 24 where 42 (18 women) representatives from CMC, SI, SCI, LWF, elderly, youth disabled and Incentive Workers (IW) participated and shared the information. LWF staff and one incentive worker and one CMC member opened CRM box and received 5 letters. In November 24, UNHCR staff visited in camp and held interaction with IDPs and their access to food. LWF staff discussed with CMC and Incentive Workers about appropriate recreational activities for age group in the camp on November new born babies in this month.(2 female and 8 male) 3 deaths in this month. One is diarrhoea, one is malaria and one is asthma. LWF staff paid salary for incentive workers on November 25 Education LWF announced vacancy for teacher in the camp and collected 36 application of the interested candidate on November 18. LWF education staffs distributed TLS teacher s incentive on November 24. LWF education staff monitors the TLS construction site on IDPs requested to WFP for regular food distribution. From protection point of view, CMC requested to install solar light. CMC members requested to provide additional fire safety points and fire guard house because of the winter. CMC members request to fence surrounding of pond to protect children. CMC and IDP requested to provide student kits.

16 LWF Myanmar November 21. LWF staff shared information to conduct 2 NFE centres and 4 new TLS in near future. Food WFP food distributed food 2 times in the month. First distribution was on and second distribution was on In first distribution, IDP received rice for one week, blended food 50 bags and salt 24 bags similarly in second distribution they received rice for one week and blended food 4698 bags. They didn t get rice, oil, salt, nutrition powder and bean for half month till November 24, Health SCI supported peer group meeting and mother to mother group meeting for the month. SCI provided health care service and nutrition support for pregnant women. Most of the IDPs are suffering from cough, chest pain and mucus diseases. 16 IDPs raised the concern of study of children in night time. They are facing the problem due to appropriate light facility. i. e Solar. IDPs request to WFP to provide food for 15 days (twice in a month) in regular basis. Delayed to food distribution caused stress and conflict in family. IDPs request to WFP to provide food for new born babies. IDPs requested for mobile clinic to increase their access in health service. IDPs need to mosquito nets and maps. IDPs request warm clothes and blanket for men, women and children. NFIs No any support NFI since September IDPs request to provide new NFI kits. IDPs request to LWF to distribute NFI kits because of pots, water pot, mosquito net are damage. Shelter IDPs are staying under tent and rent room in host community. All individual shelter/tent are damaging such as roof, wall and floor and requested to repair. IDPs request to LWF to build new CMC office and to repair ware house. 18 Education IDPs children were out of school in the camp because of there isn t enough teacher and TLS. Now, all of the IDP parents are very happy because of receiving message that LWF will implement education activities in the camp..
