2 MCTC s s Role in Capacity Building of Background Migrant Women Women constitute almost half of all international migrants worldwide 95 million Millions of female migrants lack adequate opportunities for decent work Many migrant women lack language proficiency, financial resources and access to education Migrant women are vulnerable to being exploited Many women migrants experience deskilling

4 Described by the International Labour Organization (ILO) as: productive work under conditions of freedom equity, security and dignity, in which rights are protected and adequate remuneration and social coverage are provided.decent work ensures personal dignity, no forced labour or inequality, an income that guarantees family stability, and sustainability which leads to economic growth, increased job productivity, and entrepreneurial endeavors

5 MASHAV /The Golda Meir Mount Carmel International Training Center (MCTC) In cooperation with IOM Conferences and workshops on topics connected to gender, migration and the MDGs Education and Training of Trainers programs to reach the poorest of all women, including migrant women e.g. migrant women from Sudan and Somalia living in Kenya

6 By: Training Education Skills Enhancement MCTC works towards poverty eradication and access to decent work through the development of micro-enterprises and income generating activities

7 Capacity Building Workshops for Diaspora Women Leaders In cooperation with IOM, CIMI and GTZ Targets migrant women leaders of Diaspora organizations Strengthens the capacity of migrant women Works towards access of education for women and girls in the countries of origin (e.g. Uganda)
