1 NFI COMMON PIPELINE DARFUR 1 to 29 February 2016 During the reporting period, 11,259 households in North, South, East, West and Central Darfur were provided with ES & NFI items from the NFI Common Pipeline through implementing partners: breakdown of distributions in the tables below. Community projects: such as community centres/ schools /health clinics are also supported with plastic sheets or odd NFIs upon request. NORTH DARFUR Over 7,300 households were reported to have been displaced due to military operations in East Jebel Mara between Gos and the SLA. The team visited eight villages and determined to assess the situation of the returnees and identify needs. Returnees cited improvements in the security situation and scaling back of services in Chad as their primary reasons for returning to Sudan. In the return areas, the mission identified the need for urgent assistance in terms of NFIs, water, food, health and education. Rehabilitation of water sources is particularly critical. 3 West Darfur None reported : Fire Some 164 households in various locations in Morni, Sisi,Seliha, Ardamata,Kondobi,Krinding,Kango Haraza and Bir degage West Darfur were reported to have been displaced due to the destruction of their shelters by fire. ES/NFI assistance was provided following verification by partners CRS & SRCS. During the reporting period, 810 vulnerable households, identified through protection vulnerability criteria for People with Special Needs (PSNs) were assisted with renewal NFIs from the Common Pipeline by partners SRCS.
