21 Conclusions 1. Mapping at least in Official statistics traditionally refers to indicators, in particular for comparison reasons, although absolute basic figures are available. A thoroughly check is needed to which data statistical information is referenced. 2. The modelling for INSPIRE Annex III themes varies; the only model which fits to data from official statistics is described for the INSPIRE population distribution- demography. It has to be decided for which other Annex III themes data from officical statistics are needed and where they are shown: in the theme itself or in PD ; the wording in the DS* and the IR are not so clear as it might seem (a) Data from Official Statistics Using the datamodel described in this specification, all statistical data regularly organized in tabels or data cubes can be provided in the INSPIRE framework. ( p. VI) (b) All other INSPIRE-themes The model ist not restricted just to one form of area dissemination. The model is a generic one to allow almost any statistical data to be exchanged. (p.16) 3. There exist lots of other mapping tools for instance using (1) interactive tools or (2) grid based maps etc. Should they be included into INSPIRE and where and how? *INSPIRE DS 2.8.III.10 Data Specifikation on Population Distribution demography Draft Technical Guidelines vom Federal Statistical Office of Germany, Dr. Schnorr-Bäcker, INSPIRE, Florence, June 26, 2013 slide 21
