Development of Expressway Network G 3 o c x lrt (! c G' z (E E - Designed for high-speed, long distance traffic. - Full access-control (No at-grade intersection, no stop, no direct entrance/exit from/to roadside is allowed; can enter/exit at interchanges only) - Opposite directions are clearly divided by median. - Designed for low and medium speed traffic. - Used for daily activities of citizens & local ind ustries. - No access control. Express\ ray development realizes high-speed & stable transport, which attracts high value-adding industries and contributes to upgrade industrial structures. Meanwhile, improvement of National Road needs to be continued for convenient road network and to cope with the increasing traffic volume. Kevword: Just-ln-Time Delivery Modern industry requires stable and speedy supply of parts & smooth transportation of prod ucts: An industrial park is being developed at more than 600km north of TokYo, taking advantage of newly opened expressway..modern industries such as automobile and electric appliances start at economy level of GDP/Capita around USS 1,000..Now many modern industries are constructing their factories in SEZS of Cambodia..Many Asian cou ntries started in 1990's when their GDP/capita < uss 1,000..Neighboring cou ntries (Vietnam& Thailand) are now constructing..japa n & Korea had started construction of expressway more tha n 10 years before economic growth started. 6 Rine Road 3 Construction of Ring Road No.3 (RR3) is considered as a priority project in Phnom Penh Capital City to connect existing National Roads and proposed Expressways in future. Survey team proposes Urban Expressway in Phnom Penh. The proposed project is 155km long and connects E1, E3, E5, E6 and E Proposed Typical Cross Bridge (Expressway)

Especially E1 is one of the mosr important routes, which enable to connect Phnom Penh and HCMC in 2.5hours. Considering the current traffic capacity of NR-1 and traffic demand forecast, the section between Phnom Penh and Neak Loeung is given higher priority.
