1 The Jefferson Shooter Official publication of The Jefferson State Shooting Association Inc. AUGUST 2015 YOUR LOCAL SHOOTING SPORTS ASSOCIATION OBAMA USING SOCIAL SECURITY TO BAN GUNS! CALIF. LEAD AMMO BAN: PHASE I As of July 1st lead ammo is prohibited for hunting on all California Department and Wildlife lands and for hunting Nelson s bighorn sheep. The Firing Line, CRPA s bi monthly magazine warned hunters to obtain non lead ammo well in advance as some calibers are in short supply and to sight in firearms with the different ammo as it might shoot to a different zero (really?) OBAMA NOW ATTACKING SO- CIAL SECURITY RECIPIENTS! The President is now using the VA process of denying veterans their second amendment rights and is attempting to do the same with those that receive social security benefits. If a person has had a fiduciary appointed to manage their finances Obama feels they are not competent or responsible enough to possess firearms and will be added to the NICS background check system as being in a prohibited category. NRA is gathering information on this gun grab. See pg 4 SSA COMING ATTRACTIONS ********************************* SENTRY EAGLE AUGUST 1ST KLAMATH COUNTY FAIR AUGUST MOUTH OF THE HOUSE, CARO- LYN MALONEY INTRODUCES BILLS WITH NO TEXT. Maloney along with Senator Ed Markey of Massachusetts introduced a number of gun control bills recently but only the titles were submitted for publication by Maloney. Among the bills was one requiring liability insurance for gun owners. NRA-ILA reports that some of the biggest donors to Maloney s campaign funds have been insurance companies (fancy that!). The liability insurance, gun show loophole and smart gun technology bills were all introduced with titles only and no text to see what actually is in the bills. Aren t politicians wonderful? CRIMINALIZATION OF SALE OF PRIVATE PROPERTY BEGINS! August 9th is the start date when Oregon citizens are no longer free to sell their private firearms to friends or some family members. As of that date we must acquire the state s permission through an unenforceable law to sell guns and be entered into the state s gun registration system. U.S. CONGRESS, MIXED BAG: Kansas Senator Jerry Moran plans to introduce legislation that would eliminate gun free zones at military bases and recruitment centers. The military was disarmed in the U.S. when former president Bill Clinton issued (See U.S. Congress pg 4) JSSA P.O. Steve says a unique refreshment available will be some of the newly discovered and specially imported Klamath Lake blue-green algae flavored water. Medics will be standing by for those that imbibe. ****************** FLASH! BIMART HAS UNIQUE, BULLSEYE AND RE- LOADER 15! The store also recently has joined other local retailers in offering handguns for sale. Manager Shaun says initially brands to be offered will be Taurus, Sig, Springfield, S&W and Ruger. I inquired as to ordering Colt products and he said no Colt products will be available supposedly due to some corporate difficulties at the manufacturer. ****************** I didn t get the information about the rim fire challenge match until too late to forward it to the H&N for publication for the August 1st match. 2 REGURGITATED GUN CONTROL 15 years ago Bill Clinton attempted to coerce America s gun manufacturers into adopting some of his common sense gun control schemes. Smith and Wesson at the time was a British owned company and was being sued along with other major gun manufacturers by some cities trying to solve their crime problems and blaming the gun industry. The company signed an agreement with the Departments of the Treasury and Housing and Urban Development headed by Andrew Cuomo and gained immunity from the suits but left the rest of the industry to their own devices. The agreement meddled in firearms design, business practices and firearm safety issues and exempted S&W from the lawsuits only if they followed the dictates of the government Now a new anti constitution gun grabber bunch, the Metro Industrial Area Foundation, is trying to stick their foot into the military and law enforcement procurement process by injecting politics into the firearms procurement process and requiring only certain manufacturers to be sources of their firearms. The chosen gun makers would be ones that have funded smart gun technology, that only sell through dealers that do not use the delayed 3 day provision to complete a gun sale and distribute their guns exclusively through dealers that only sell responsibly. This is essentially the same form of government blackmail Clinton used back in 2000 against the gun industry to try and cripple or demolish it except Clinton s agreement with the manufacturers consisted of at least fifteen pages of garbage that was impossible for gun makers to address. Some of the provision then were: authorized user technology, child safety provisions, minimum barrel lengths, drop tests, performance tests, loaded chamber indicators, gun registration, gun show display dictates, age restriction of youth entering the sporting goods department of large stores if they sell guns and a laundry list of junk provisions that belong in the garbage disposal.

4 U.S. Congress: (From pg 1) an order prohibiting arms to military members on military installations in the U.S. in a pathetic attempt to combat a rising suicide rate at our military bases. Hindsight shows us that this action fit right in with his gun ban agenda. The bill as yet with no number assigned is titled the Safeguarding Service Members Second Amendment Rights Act. There are many more provisions that prohibit other laws, executive orders or regulations from being used to disarm our military on home soil. A bill introduced in the U.S. Senate, S.1769 would prevent the Obama administration from banning the sale and trade of legally possessed ivory by U.S. citizens in this country. Another nasty bill, HR 3051 would abolish the provision in federal law that allows a firearms sale to proceed after 3 days even though the background check has not been completed. Reasoning being that the Charleston shooter might not have been able to obtain his gun had the delayed transaction not been approved. The bill would establish an indefinite delay in the sale of a firearm. A Bloomberg group, Moms Demand Action has already secured new store policies from Wal-Mart, Dick s Sporting, Goods Big 5 and is petitioning Cabellas not sell firearms to anyone that does not pass the background check within the lawfully allowed 3 day period. They are attempting to establish unlimited delays for those that are not approved during the 3 day delay period so it is just another means of denying Americans their constitutional rights. OREGON LEGISLATURE: The legislature adjourned July 7th with no further damage to our gun rights despite an attempt from the majority party to modify the background check bill, S941 with a loan provision adjustment, S315. The bill died upon the legislatures adjournment and it s confusing language with it. It has been said that some form of the bill will be introduced in the short legislative session in February to appease a senator that voted for S941. SSA from pg 1 As you may have heard in the news or from our recent alert the Social Security Administration (SSA) is currently developing a program to strip the Second Amendment Rights of over four million Americans currently receiving SSA benefits through a representative payee. One of the scariest aspects of this is the sheer number of Americans that are completely unaware if they would be affected. As a result, we are looking for anyone that would potentially become a prohibited person through this new program and are willing to tell their side, to contact us directly. As we continue to spread awareness reporters are often looking for local people to discuss their side and localize the story and that s where you come in. We can t let the administration control the narrative of this story, it s time to be proactive! Again, if you or someone you know would be willing to help us spread the word by telling their story, please contact me at keely@nrailafrontlines.com or call me at Also, please spread the word by sending this to your friends and family and by sharing on social media using the hashtag #SSAgungrab.
