3 Total Liabilities $842, Ed Oliver moved that the Treasurer s Report be accepted as presented Gord Mayfield seconded the motion All in favour Carried Annual Society Report: Ed Oliver filed the annual Society Report listing all of the current officers. A $25.00 fee was forwarded with this report. Membership Report: Lorne Barron reported that he did not have time to submit a membership report as he had to butcher his elk Old Business: Wildlife Banquet: Mike Ramsay reported on the Wildlife Banquet: Allison Mann has confirmed that she will cater the banquet Allison needs more buffalo meat. Roger Gysel will donate buffalo and smoked fish Lorne Barron and Mike Ramsay will donate sausage Wayne Biffert to contact Julie at the Cariboo Advisor in the am on Tuesday, February 2 as Julie would like to know who our sponsors are Barry Jenkins to also contact Julie as she would like a rundown of the history of our club Julie can be contacted at Hall decoration will start at 7:00, Friday, February 5 with table set up. Interested parties to meet at the clubhouse at 7:00 Hall decoration will be completed Saturday morning Barry Jenkins to contact Doug Hill regarding music for the banquet Debbie to complete the meal menu Wayne Biffert reported that the moose antler is all stuffed and the prize is a 270 short mag, stainless steel Weatherby with a synthetic stock Newspaper reporters have been given their tickets Mike Ramsay reports that all tickets have been sold with the possible exception of tickets held by Jacques Moe Monita needs to be contacted to confirm if Al Tew will be displaying a mount at the banquet. Report by Wayne Biffert: Wayne reports that it cost the club $ to have a limited edition print framed and matted. Wayne and a friend made the frame Wayne submitted a bill in the amount of $20.31 for postage to return 3

4 unsold Dream Lottery tickets to the BCWF Wayne submitted a bill in the amount of $20.05 for two fly boxes he purchased at Surplus Herbies to store hand made flies that were donated for the 2010 WLSA fundraiser Report on the Likely Shooting Range by Barry Jenkins: A meeting will be held on Wednesday, February 10 at 7:00 in the basement of the WLSA Clubhouse to discuss the Likely Shooting Range Barry has an unsigned lease agreement for the Likely Range from Lands Barry also stated that the bank account balance for the Likely Gun Range sits at approximately $26, which would be used to improve and operate the range Barry passed a map of the range around the executive table. The range has been roaded and has been completely logged. The revenue from the logging has been deposited into the Likely Gun Range bank account Debbie to send an to the membership to advise them of the meeting Emergency Lighting: Barry Jenkins reported that the emergency light in the clubhouse, above the back entrance door is not working. Barry will take it down and see if it can be fixed. 5 Water Sampling: Gord Mayfield to take over water sampling from Mike Chesley Cariboo Archers: Several WLSA members attended the 2009 Cariboo Archer s AGM where it was decided that 50% of their profits would be forwarded to the WLSA. The Cariboo Archers use the clubhouse more than any other group Question: Should delegates from the WLSA attend the 2010 Cariboo Archer s AGM to see if there is interest in integrating the archery club into the WLSA? Will discuss this issue at the next WLSA Executive Meeting C.O.R.E. Report: Barry Jenkins reported that 2009 held the highest number of C.O.R.E. graduates in BC since the BCWF took over the C.O.R.E. program. There were 6599 graduates in % of the graduates were women 1/3 of the graduates were under the age of 19 It appears that more people are coming back to hunting Here are the number breakdowns by Region: Region 1 Vancouver Island 995 Region 2 Lower Mainland 2215 Region 3 Thompson Okanagan 464 Region 4 Kootenays 765 Region 5 Cariboo 353 Region 6 Skeena 281 Region 7 Omineca Peace 793 Region 8 Okanagan 733 Donation from Karen Kuenzl: Karen Kuenzl donated paper copies of all Boone & Crockett scoring sheets for all species. Given to Roger Gysel, scorer. BC Barrel Racer s Association: Wayne Biffert reported that the BC Barrel Racer s Association is looking to the WLSA for a sponsorship re: their finals to be held at the Trail Rider s Arena on September 3 rd, 4 th & 5 th, Some of the costs of sponsorship include $1, for a barrel racing saddle, $ for a belt buckle and $ for a horse blanket. This will be further discussed at the next executive meeting BC Cattlemen s Association Sponsorship: Wayne Biffert reported that the BC Cattlemen s Association is requesting sponsorship for their 2010 AGM, Convention & Trade Show 5

6 Wayne Biffert moved to explore getting a booth at the 2010 BC Cattlemen s Association AGM, Convention & Trade show and report his findings at the next WLSA Executive Meeting. Ed Oliver seconded the motion All in favour Carried BCWF AGM & Convention Fees will be paid for two delegates from the WLSA to attend the 2010 BCWF AGM and Convention This will be brought forward at the next WLSA Executive Meeting. Action Items: Post a request on the WLSA website for someone to take on Native Affairs in order to monitor new developments and report these to the club Barry Jenkins to check with Malissa Hogen of the Child Development Centre to see if she would have anyone she could recommend to head the Argo Project Jacques Drisdelle to check with BCWF to see if GOABC and or it s members are members of the BCWF and if they hold any influence regarding the direction of the Federation Do Executive members want to attend the 2010 Cariboo Archers AGM to see if there is interest in integrating the archery club into the WLSA? Does the WLSA wish sponsor the 2010 BC Barrel Racer s Association finals? Does the WLSA want to sponsor the 2010 BC Cattlemen s Association AGM, Convention and Trade show by purchasing a booth?
