Randy will share how he and his client, Maria Altmann, played artfully by Helen Mirren, took on the Austrian government and fought a battle all the way to the US Supreme Court to restore artwork stolen by the Nazis to its rightful owner, the Altmann family. It is an incredible true story of tenacity and justice, fought right here in Los Angeles and a story about the atrocities committed by one people over another that we must never forget. Woman in Gold was released in spring of 2015 and is a leading contender in this year s Hollywood awards season. Mr. Schoenberg, played by Ryan Reynolds in the movie, speaks to LA5 on Friday, December 11 at the LA Athletic Club. Hal Barstow was still gloating about the Trojans football victory. Fortunately for the Bruin Rotarians, college basketball season is upon us. President José and President-Elect Todd welcomed Herbert McGurk as a new LA5 member. Make sure to introduce yourself to Herb. Fritz Coleman Interviewed the entire Rose Court before Introducing Rose Queen Erika Winter to the club. Maurice Rahimi s only been a member for a month, but he s already being put to work this week s task was the Pledge of Allegiance. LA5 was visited by Simon Khinda s father, Malcolm a Rotarian from Beford, England who exchanged banners with President José. Rotary
