CALL TO ORDER BY THE PRESIDENT 2. FLAG SALUTE 3. PUBLIC ANNOUNCEMENT The New Jersey Open Public Meetings Law was enacted to insure the right of the public to have advance notice and to attend the meetings of public bodies at which any business affecting their interests is discussed or acted upon. In accordance with the provisions of the Act, the Franklin Lakes Board of Education has caused notice of this meeting to be published by having the date, time, and place thereof posted on the School website; published in the Board s designated newspapers: The Ridgewood News and The Record; and mailed to all persons, if any, who have requested said notice. 4. ROLL CALL Ms. Margaret Bennett, Ms. Christine Christopoul, Mr. Joseph Conti, Mr. Richard Koenigsberg, Mr. Laurence Loprete, Mr. James Martino, Ms. Susan McGowan, Ms. Kathie Schwartz. Mr. Craig Urciuoli was absent. 5. APPROVAL OF MINUTES Motion by Ms. Christopoul To approve minutes from the meeting on April 19, 2011 Seconded by Mr. Conti On roll call, Motion carried. 6. BOARD SECRETARY AND TREASURER S REPORT Motion by Ms. Christopoul To approve Board Secretary and Treasurer s Report for March 2011 Seconded by Mr. Conti On roll call, Motion carried. 7. APPROVAL OF MONTHLY BUDGET STATUS CERTIFICATION The Board Secretary certifies that for the month ending April 2011, no budgetary line item account has obligations and payments (contractual orders) which in total exceed the amount appropriated by the Board of Education pursuant to N.J.S.A:18A:22-8 and N.J.S.A. 18A: Pursuant to N.J.A.C. 6A: (c)4, the Board of Education certifies that as of April 2011, the Board Secretary s monthly financial report (appropriations section) did not reflect an over-expenditure in any of the major accounts or funds, and based on the appropriation balances reflected on this report and the advice of district officials, we

2 have no reason to doubt that the district has sufficient funds available to meet its financial obligations for the remainder of the fiscal year. 5 COMMITTEE OF THE WHOLE #1CW RESOLUTION NO APPROVAL OF FRANKLIN LAKES EDUCATION FOUNDATION GRANTS the Franklin Lakes Board of Education approves the Franklin Lakes Education Foundation s Spring grants as per the attached spreadsheet for the school year. #2CW RESOLUTION NO OUT-OF-DISTRICT PLACEMENT the Board of Education approves the following Out-of-District Placement: Student Placement Dates Tuition JH David Gregory School 4/27/11-8/30/11 $65, (prorated) BUILDINGS, GROUNDS AND OPERATIONS #1BGO RESOLUTION NO BID FOR FACULTY BATHROOM REPAIRS AND CASEWORK AT WOODSIDE AVENUE SCHOOL AND HIGH MOUNTAIN ROAD SCHOOL the Franklin Lakes Board of Education authorizes the Board Secretary to advertise for bids

6 for faculty bathroom repairs and casework at Woodside Avenue School and High Mountain Road School. #2BGO RESOLUTION NO APPROVAL OF CONTRACT WITH FOGARTY & HARA the Franklin Lakes Board of Education hereby authorizes the Business Administrator/Board Secretary to enter into contract with Fogarty & Hara for Legal Services at $ per hour (partner) and $ per hour (associate) for the school year. #3BGO RESOLUTION NO APPROVAL OF PRITCHARD INDUSTRIES CONTRACT the Franklin Lakes Board of Education agrees to renew contract for year 3 with Pritchard Industries, Inc. in the amount of $912, (1.98% increase). 7 #1CUR RESOLUTION NO APPROVAL OF FIELD TRIPS the Board of Education approves the field trips listed on the attached summary. FINANCE #1F RESOLUTION NO APPROVAL OF LINE ITEM TRANSFERS APRIL 2011 the Board approves the line item transfers for the month of April In order to accomplish the aforesaid purpose the Business Administrator was authorized to transfer the amount of money into and out of the line items set forth on the attached schedule. #2F RESOLUTION NO APPROVAL OF CURRENT BILLS LIST the Franklin Lakes Board of Education approves the payment of claims on the current bills list in the amount of $2,898, for April 2011.

8 Passed Failed #3F RESOLUTION NO APPROVAL OF EXTRAORDINARY STATE AID SPENDING the Franklin Lakes Board of Education appropriates 2009/10 extraordinary state aid from surplus in the amount of $119,708 and $16,403 from 2009/10 transportation aid from surplus for Woodside Avenue School and High Mountain Road School faculty bathroom repairs.
