Nomination Form for the NSDP 2012 Elections This form will be reproduced and distributed to all State Convention Delegates Name:Erin Bilbray-Kohn Address: 3151 Coachlight Circle, Las Vegas, NV County: Clark Congressional District CD 1 address Ebilbray@aol.com Gender (circle one): E Employment Executive Director, Emerge Nevada Position seeking: Clark At-large Executive Board Member: Washoe At-large Executive Board Member: Rural At-large Executive Board Member: National Committeewoman: x National Committeeman:

Please state why you are seeking to run for this office: Nevada has come a long way in a short period of time. We have solidified our position as an early caucus state, maintained our Democratic voter registration advantage, and successfully trained thousands of Democratic organizers and activists in less than a decade. But we can take nothing for granted. I understand the responsibility of the office of National Committee Woman. In this office, it is often necessary to represent the Nevada Democratic Party to the local and national press. This position is also going to be critical in leading the fight for Nevada to retain its place as an early caucus state, a role that brings critical financial support to our State Party. I am uniquely qualified to represent the Nevada State Democratic Party in this role and have proven that I am able to effectively advocate for Nevada s Democrats If re-elected, I promise I will never let Nevada down. I will continue to represent you with dignity, intellect, and integrity.

Please state any experience that you would like to share that prepares you for this position (please feel free to attach a bio): I am delighted to be running for re-election as your DNC National Committee Woman. Most of you already know that my family has been involved in Nevada Democratic politics for more than 70 years. My grandfather James A. Bilbray served as the Clark County Tax Assessor from and was responsible for the first promotions of women and of African Americans into management positions in Clark County government. My father, former Congressman James Bilbray, had a 100% labor record in Congress and was the only other State Senator to join with Senator Joe Neil in the creation of Martin Luther King Day in Nevada. My dad was also the first member of the Federal Delegation to support ENDA, federal legislation that ended discrimination based on sexual orientation. As proud as I am of my family s legacy of civil rights, I stand on my own record. I founded the Emerge Nevada program six years ago. Emerge Nevada is a program which recruits and trains Democratic women to run for office. Since that time we have graduated over 100 women, and 13 women have been elected to office. This year, five Emerge graduates are running for office. Emerge Nevada has actively focused on the recruitment of women of color and women from the gay/lesbian/transgender community. The National Emerge America network points to Nevada as the most diverse program in the country. The Obama Campaign also asked me to represent women in a National Video The Dreams of our daughters Please watch it at

The Woman of Emerge I am also proud to be the political director for Nevada s highest-ranking Latina, Attorney General Catherine Cortez Masto. I am lucky to work for such a great woman leader, who I am honored to call my friend.

The following leaders have endorsed my re-election as National Committee Woman (as of May 17, 2012) Congresswoman Shelley Berkley Attorney General Catherine Cortez Masto Controller Kim Wallin Civil Rights Leader Senator Joe Neal Former Attorney General Frankie Sue Del Papa Assembly Majority Leader Marcus Conklin Assemblywoman Marilyn Kirkpatrick Assemblyman William Horne Assemblywoman Irene Bustamante Adams Assemblyman Elliot Anderson Assemblyman David Bobzien Assemblywoman Marilyn Dondero Loop Assemblywoman Lucy Flores Assemblyman Jason Frierson Assemblywoman April Mastroluca Assemblywoman Ellen Barre Spiegel Clark County Commissioner Tom Collins Washoe County Commissioner Kitty Jung Clark County Democratic Party Chair Chris Miller Washoe County Democratic Party Chair Dorie Guy Douglas County Democratic Party Chair Cindy Trigg Former Nevada State Democratic Party Chair Adriana Martinez Former Clark County Democratic Party Chair John Hunt Former Washoe County Democratic Party Chair Chip Evans Daela Gibson, Former Nevada State Democratic Party Vice-Chair Vice Chair of DNC Hispanic Caucus Andres Ramirez AFL-CIO Executive Secretary/Treasurer Danny Thompson Gail Tuzzolo Rusty McCallister, Nevada Firefighters Sharon Scroggins, AFSCME Ryan Beaman, Clark County Firefighters Randy Soltero, IATSE Bill Stanley, IUEC Tom Morley, Laborers 872 Annette Magnus, Planned Parenthood of Southern Nevada

Alison Gaulden, Planned Parenthood Mar Monte Nevada Stonewall Democrats Chair Derek Washington Northern Nevada Stonewall Democrats Chair Olivia Gobert Hicks Progress Now Executive Director Erin Neff Ronni Council, Organized Karma Former Latino Coalition Chair Xiomara Rodriguez Laura Martin, PLAN Field Organizer Greg Esposito Shirley Savage Zakeisha Jones Daniele Walliser Kristine Kuzemka, Esq. Estrella Evangelista I affirm that as of this date that I submit this form, that I am an active registered Democrat in the state of Nevada.
