President s Report Greetings Alamo ASHRAE, The days are slowly getting longer and warmer, FIESTA is over, and summer is right around the corner. May is here, and there is much to share. We welcomed the other chapters from Region VIII, with members represented from Central Oklahoma all the way to Mexico City. The Chapter Regional Conference (CRC) rotates annually, and is hosted by our chapter every 15 years. The event was a huge undertaking, and a big thank you goes out to Fred Gleeson for organizing and executing the CRC. This month we will resume our monthly lunch time chapter meetings on the 3rd Tuesday at the Hilton Double Tree. This month s May 15th speaker will be Julian debullet- ASHRAE Distinguished Lecturer.! 1 of 4! 10

2 Come and make it! Julian s presentation will cover Variable Flow Chiller Plant Design. Please register in advance to avoid last minute meeting disruptions and higher priced entry fees. Next month s June 19th Ethics Meeting TBPE presentation will be the last for the ASHRAE year. We will not have a chapter meeting in July, but will be working in the background planning for next year. Here are the upcoming chapter events: June 19th Ethics Meeting TBPE June 24th-June 27th ASHRAE Summer meeting in Houston Next year s Alamo Chapter Officers and Committee Chairs will be meeting to plan for the year. The names of proposed Officers and Committee Chairs are provided in this month s newsletter for review. Familiarize yourself with the new chapter leadership, and if you d like to get involved with the chapter operations please reach out. If you have any suggestions for chapter meeting topics, presenters, chapter events, or other feedback please contact one of our volunteers. Lastly, the ASHRAE Summer meeting will be held just down the road in Houston, TX. June 24th June 27th. More details can be found in the newsletter on how to register and scheduling. 5 Dear ASHRAE member: ASHRAE will soon start the election process for Society Year You will receive an from our election partner, Survey & Ballot Systems (SBS), with directions on how to cast your vote electronically. To ensure your election arrives safely in your inbox please add the following address as an approved sender: This year, five nominees (four from the Society Nominating Committee and one from a member petition) are presented for the four Vice President positions. The four who receive the most votes will be elected to the positions. Voting will close on Sunday, June 24, 2018, at 4:00 pm Eastern Daylight Savings Time (US/Canada). Although we encourage early voting, members will be able to vote onsite at the Annual Conference in Houston, Texas. Computers will be located near the ASHRAE Conference Registration area in the Hilton Americas Houston Hotel and members must use the credentials sent to them in the broadcast in order to vote electronically. To protect your privacy and to ensure secure voting, ASHRAE staff will not have access to your log in credentials.
