2 Agenda Item #13 Meeting of October 21, 2013 SOUTH PORTLAND CITY COUNCIL POSITION PAPER OF THE CITY CLERK SUBJECT: ORDER #58-13/14 Setting the time for opening the polls for the November 5, 2013 General Election. Passage requires majority vote. POSITION: Pursuant to 21-A M.R.S.A. 621, the clerk shall record a copy of the Notice of the General Election along with the times and places of posting. Please note that all polling locations will be staffed and open and voters will be required to vote at their designated polling location, unless they have opted to absentee vote. The polling locations will open at 7:00 A.M. November 5, 2013 and will close at 8:00 P.M. The attached Notice of Election was posted in the following locations on October 20, 2013; District One Boys and Girls Club 169 Broadway District Two American Legion 413 Broadway District Three and Four South Portland Community Center 21 Nelson Road District Five Redbank Community Center MacArthur Cir West Central South Portland City Hall 25 Cottage Road Unless a voter has an extenuating circumstance, the last day to request an absentee ballot will be October 31 st.
