2 ELECTION JUDGE/COORDINATOR HANDBOOK PRIMARY ELECTION 2018 CHAPTER 1 DEAR POLL WORKERS: We at the Chicago Board of Elections are pleased to have you serve in the upcoming election. Your role on Election Day is extremely important. Please read this entire handbook. Inside, you will find information to help your team properly: Set up your polling place so that it s user friendly; Complete your paperwork; Serve our customers, the voters of Chicago; Answer questions, solve problems and trouble-shoot equipment; and, Close the polls and report the results. The following symbols are used throughout this handbook to alert you to key information: At the back of this book, you will find samples of forms you will use, as well as a map of Receiving Stations where materials should be submitted after the polls are closed. Important reminder: 17-year-olds will be eligible to register and vote at this March 20 Primary Election if they will turn 18 by Nov. 6, 2018 (the General Election). 4 Receiving Stations Receiving Stations are locations where Judges return the required election materials after closing the polls. Two Judges, one from each political party, should return the materials together. Receiving Stations are determined by ward. Find your precinct s ward number on the list below.
