9 Monday Briefing every Monday Legislative e Update every e Friday that the General Assembly is in session Heather Massengill (hmassengill@nchba.org) or check your name on the sign-in sheet if you are not already receiving the newsletters 17 Allows employees of NAHB member companies to become members of NAHB at a reduced rate $5/year for both NCHBA and NAHB. Locals associations can add their own affiliate member dues to that amount. No local or state association is required to establish this category of membership. This is an optional category. A person may ONLY become an NAHB Affiliate member through the local association of their employer. In addition, the employer must have at least one Associate or Builder member of record in active NAHB membership status. If the local l HBA has not adopted d or recognized the Affiliate Member Category, then an individual is NOT eligible for Affiliate Membership at the state and national levels. Currently, 33 of the 65 locals in NC offer affiliate memberships. 18 9
10 The Touch System targets your members who are in groups least likely to renew, sending them customized and personalized communications designed to keep them on track to continue their membership. The system automatically delivers this retentionoriented messaging to them throughout the year. The cost to participate depends on the risk category. High risk members cost is $8.93 each for a year s worth of touches. NCHBA is offering a subsidy of $5/member to offset some of the cost. Eligibility requirements are: 1) Only local associations with 500 (a change from the threshold of 300 members in 2011) or fewer members (based on NAHB membership numbers as of ) are eligible to receive grant funds. 2) Local associations must sign up or already be signed up with NAHB to participate in the Touch Program for ) Local associations must submit an application to NCHBA (found on CD) and grant funds will be allocated on a first come, first served basis (overall cap of $5,000). Grants distributed at the end of ) In order to participate, a local s national and state dues must be current, and if the local gets a sponsor(s) to cover the cost, then that local is not eligible to receive a grant. Testimonials from NC locals who participated in 2011 are on the CD. Contact Kathryn Atkinson at NCHBA for more information. 19 Membership Committee will meet from 10:00 a.m. 12 noon. The NC PWB Council will join the committee. Gabrielle Alahouzaos from the Membership Department at NAHB will speak about creating an effective value proposition for members. Anyone is welcome to attend
