1 PROPOSED AMENDMENTS TO THE BYLAWS AND STANDING RULES OF UTAH STATE CHAPTER (Page numbers refer to the May 2018 printing of Utah State Chapter Bylaws and Standing Rules) Underlined print = insert or add; Line through words = strike out. THE FOLLOWING TWO AMENDMENTS WILL BE CONSIDERED SERIATIM. Each will be discussed separately but voted upon as one. 1. Submitted by the Executive Board of Utah State Chapter (Page B-6) Amend Article V, by inserting a new Section 5. Section 5---UNAFFILIATE COORDINATOR A. Shall be appointed by the B. EXPLANATION: Would add the position of Unaffiliate Coordinator to the list of Standing Committees; would stipulate that she is appointed by the president; would assign her duties to reach out to each unaffiliate sister residing in Utah, to strive to connect unaffiliates with chapters in her area, to create and maintain the unaffiliate list and distribute to local chapters and to communicate unaffiliate information to the International office; and would stipulate a designated state officer shall serve as liaison to the Unaffiliate Coordinator. NOTE: If this amendment is adopted, subsequent sections will be renumbered to conform.

2 2. Submitted by the Executive Board of Utah State Chapter (Page B - 4) Amend Article IV, Section 1, by inserting a new subsection I. Section 3 - RESTRICTION No new chapter shall be organized within four weeks preceding the convention of state chapter. EXPLANATION: Would remove the timing restriction of four weeks preceding the convention of state chapter for new chapter organization. RATIONALE: Allows for more flexibility for the organizer to work with the prospective chapter and International chapter to schedule the organization. NOTE: If adopted, the subsequent subsection will be renumbered to conform. EDITORIAL RESOLUTION Resolved, That the Executive Board of Utah State Chapter be authorized to correct article and section designation, punctuation and cross-references and to make such other technical and conforming changes as may be necessary to reflect the intent of Utah State Chapter.

5 ADDENDUM At the direction of International Chapter, Utah State Chapter is required to make the following change in the bylaws. This change requires no action by convention. (page B-18) Article XIV AMENDMENTS, Section B, will have a new sentence 2 added as follows: Local chapters desiring to submit an amendment must have that proposal approved by a two-thirds vote at a regular business meeting provided the amendment was submitted in writing at a previous regular business meeting and all absent resident members notified that a vote will be taken at the next regular business meeting.
