3 Amend Article VIII - Elections by adding the words and Appointments. Article VIII Elections Article VIII Elections and Appointments Rationale: This amendment is necessary to include appointed Board member positions. Conforming Amendment: Amend Article VIII - Elections, Section 2 by striking out the words Election of. Section 2. Election of officers and Board Members Section 2. 4 Amend Article VIII Elections, Section 1. Nominating Committee by inserting the words and Leadership Recruitment between the words Nominating and Committee. Section 1. Nominating Committee Section 1. Nominating and Leadership Recruitment Committee Rationale: This amendment more accurately describes the charge of this committee.

5 Amend Article VIII Elections, Section 1. Nominating Committee, B. Eligibility to serve by adding the words No two (2) committee members shall be from the same state at the time elected or when appointed to fill a vacancy. Section 1. Nominating Committee. B. Members may selfnominate no later than April 1 for any position to be elected at the annual meeting. Procedures for selfnomination shall be as prescribed in National PTA policy. 9 Article IX Executive Committee Amend Article IX Executive Committee by striking out the article in its entirety and renumber the articles as needed. Rationale: This amendment is proposed because there is insufficient information for the association to implement an executive committee at this time. Conforming Amendment: Amend Article XII Committees, Section 1. Standing Committees, A. Composition, Appointment, Accountability, Ex-officio Members, Subcommittees, and Term by striking out the words executive committee and nominating committee are standing committees and inserting the words nominating committee is a standing committee.

10 Article XI National Affiliate Advisory Council Amend Article XI National Affiliate Advisory Council, Section 2 by striking out the words a chair and inserting the words The National PTA President-Elect shall serve as the chair. The Section 2. Chair, Vice Chair, and Secretary. A chair, vice chair, and secretary shall be elected from amongst the current state affiliate constituent association presidents via an electronic meeting within 45 days following the close of each National PTA Annual Meeting.
