1 Missoula Senior Citizens Center Association, Inc 705 South Higgins Ave. Missoula, Montana (406) Operating Structure as of March 2010 PURPOSES OF THE ASSOCIATION - establish a Center for recreational, social, and educational activities. - establish services where individuals may receive or be directed to counseling or information regarding health, housing, or other personal needs. - promote the social and financial status of the Center. GENERAL MEMBERSHIP - individuals 50 years of age or older are eligible including younger spouses. - membership dues ($15.00) are required for the current calendar year or a paid life membership ($150.00) - meeting required in February (follows Roberts Rules of Orders) - special meetings at request of President, Board majority, or petition by 25% of membership. - elects officers and board members by majority vote in February. - votes on Bylaw amendments recommended by the Association Board - authorizes any and all costs or commitments having a value more than $10,000 ASSOCIATION BOARD (bylaws; 25 specified) - 15 directors and 6 alternates elected for staggered (5+2, 5+2, 5+2) 3-year terms. - 4 officers; President, two Vice Presidents, Treasurer - meets monthly (Tuesday following 3rd Monday) - conducts, manages, and controls the affairs and property of the Association. - adopts rules and regulations consistent with Association Bylaws - receives, holds, invests, and uses funds, gifts, grants, or endowments for activities of the Association. - may borrow money for Association purposes. - may authorize expenditures up to $10,000 terms expire: March 2011 Lois Reimann Al Price Mona Murphey Betty Kellem Denny Huffard Alt. 2 EXECUTIVE COMMITTEE (bylaws; minimum 5) - composed of elected officers plus immediate past President. - meets at the request of the President. - acts for the Association Board between meetings of the Board. President: Lyndia Dodd - chief executive officer of the Association Board - presides at Board and General Membership meetings. - prepares the agenda for Board Meetings. - ex-officio member of all committees. - may assign functions to Center Coordinator, Bookkeeper, Vice Presidents, or members. 1st Vice President: Dick Pickens - serves as President in absence of the President. - performs duties assigned by the President and/or the Board. 2nd Vice President: Al Hensel - serves as 1st Vice President in the absence of the 1st Vice President. - performs duties assigned by the President and/or the Board. Treasurer: Azara Llewellyn - works with the Coordinator/Bookkeeper and any hired bookkeeping support personnel. - coordinates for an annual audit. Past President: Jean Froehlich - advisor to the Executive Committee and Board. Recording Secretary: Nyla Sterner - records minutes of Board and other meetings requested by the President. CENTER OPERATING STAFF - daily open and close of Center doors. - receive visitors and inquiries from members and non-members. - receive comments and monitor needs of the Center regarding safety and maintenance. - works with non-members, members, officers, Directors and committees to make Center services and activities responsive to Association goals and objectives. Center Coordinator: Chris Brenna - chief operating officer for the Center, responsible to the Association Board - supervises paid employees and Center volunteers - advisor to all committees - prepares reports requested by the Board. - informs the President about daily affairs and activities at the Center. - acts for the President when delegated - maintains services and information on health, housing, and other personal services. - establishes direct service projects as required if they are not a duplicate of some service offered by another agency. - chief editor of monthly Blazing Trails publication Bookkeeper: Jane Goffe - maintains clear and complete records of all financial activity. - safeguards all cash and money accounts for the Association.

4 Custodian: Jeff Gilbertson Asst. Custodian/Handyman: LeRoy Thomas - performs routines to make the Center safe, clean, and comfortable. - performs other designated tasks as directed by the Center Board and/or Coordinator. Front Office Volunteer Coordinator: Joan Jette - provides receptionist and information service at the Center Front Office. - Records all cash and money received from various sources. - assists members, groups and/or committees as directed by President and/or Coordinator. 6 PROPERTY AND MAINTENANCE COMMITTEE (bylaws; minimum 10) - meets at request of Chairman or President. - responsible for aquisition, maintenance, management, and inventory of real and other property of the Association and Center. Paul Armstrong Donna Pecasting Denny Huffard Dick Moore Chris Brenna LEGISLATIVE COMMITTEE (bylaws; minimum 4) - meets at request of the Chairman or President. - keeps Officers and Association Board members informed of Federal and State legislation concerning senior citizens. - maintains contact with state and federal legislators. - encourages seniors to communicate their concerns. 10 FOOD SERVICE COMMITTEE - provides snacks, light lunches, and full lunches in the Center. - provides evening social meals in the Center. - representatives plan menus and coordinate food purchases with Purchaser. - representatives organize work to be done and arrange kitchen help. George Michel QUILTERS GROUP - provides for expression of artistry in a traditional medium. - sales help support the Centers operation. Shirley Bartlett MELLOWAIRES - a singing group for popular and oldies music. - performs locally, Philanthropies in Song. Ann Harding
