2 APPLICATION PACKET TREASURER-TAX COLLECTOR, COUNTY OF ALAMEDA The County of Alameda Board of Supervisors has the honor of appointing the next Treasurer Tax Collector and is now accepting applications. The deadline to apply is FRIDAY, MARCH 24, Applications must be filed in person by the applicant, or the applicant's representative, with the Clerk of the Board of Supervisors by 5:00 p.m. on FRIDAY, MARCH 24, White, and the appointment is to return both the necessary attac materials will not b ts who timely including any ing incomplete qualifications as Clerk of the Board of Supervisors County Administration Building 1221 Oak Street, Fifth Floor, Suite 536 Oakland, California Completed application materials are to be filed in person by the applicant or the applicant's representative at the same location. It is the applicant's responsibility to obtain a receipt confirming the Clerk of the Board's receipt of the application. The receipt does not confirm that the application is complete or that the applicant is eligible for appointment.

4 Alameda County Board of Supervisors Procedures for the Selection of Treasurer-Tax Collector 1 Initiation of Selection Process 1.1 The adoption of these procedures by the Board of Supervisors shall constitute: a. An announcement of the vacancy and an invitation for applications for Treasurer - Tax Collector. b. c. The procedures and applications. consideration of hereto and 2.3 Board of Clerk of the Board of Supervisors County Administration Building 1221 Oak Street, Fifth Floor, Suite 536 Oakland, California The Clerk of the Board shall issue an applic~tion to any person who wishes to apply. The Clerk shall not endeavor to determine whether an applicant possesses the legal qualifications for the office when an application is issued. The Clerk shall obtain a receipt bearing the signature of the applicant at the time an application is issued. Page 1of3

5 3 Close of Applications 3.1 Each application must be filed not later than 5:00 p.m. on FRIDAY, MARCH 24, 2017, with the Clerk of the Board. Each application must be filed personally by the applicant or a representative of the applicant. Application by mail, , express mail, facsimile or other substitute form of delivery shall NOT be accepted. 3.2 The Clerk of the Board shall issue a receipt for the filing of each application. It shall be the responsibility of the applicant to ensure that a receipt is issued by the Clerk upon the filing of an application a. c. T Desi nation of A 4.1 Following the close of the app ica :ill erjod, an d oc committee comprised of the County Administrator, County Counsel an egistrar of Voters shall review all timely submitted applications. The ad hoc committee will review the applications for completeness and compliance with the application requirements established by the Board of Supervisors and recommend candidates eligible for interview by the Board of Supervisors. 4.2 Following the submission of the ad hoc committee's recommendations, the Board of Supervisors shall review the recommendations at a Regular or Special meeting. The Board of Supervisors will select the final list of candidates to be interviewed and will not be bound by the ad hoc committee's recommendations. 4.3 Only applicants who submitted timely and complete applications and who meet the legal requirements will be eligible to be selected for an interview. 6 5 Selection of Treasurer-Tax Collector 5.1 Prior to the appointment of a Treasurer-Tax Collector, the Board of Supervisors shall interview each candidate selected by the. Board at a Regular or Special public meeting. The format of the interviews shall be determined by the Board, but candidates shall be prepared to make a public statement of no more than three (3) minutes if called upon. 5.2 The Board of Supervisors shall make an appointment by majority vote at a Regular or Special public meeting. 5.3 The person selected by the Board of Supervisors shall take office and be sworn in within 5.4 twenty (20) business days after s.~e::.; le;lclil tilioii n.a=::i:t;:::::~...
