Badges During te sessions, please wear your badge as a courtesy to fellow registrants and as an indication tat your registration as been completed. He works alongside te executive director to furter te vision of te nation s governors. Barry previously served as bot te acting and deputy director of te Congressional Budget Office, wic acts as scorekeeper for congressional spending, and as a budget advisor for te International Monetary Fund. 11 Vickie Coitz, Panelist Senior Policy Analyst, Center for Law and Social Policy (CLASP), Wasington, DC Vickie Coitz is a senior policy analyst on te Workforce Development team at CLASP. Se focuses on state and federal policies tat increase access to and success in workforce development and postsecondary education for low-income, lower-skilled adults. Se provides tecnical assistance to state agencies on postsecondary, workforce, and career patways policies and funding. Ms. Coitz also analyzes and advocates for federal and state workforce and postsecondary education policies tat elp low-income, lower-skilled adults access education, postsecondary credentials, and family-sustaining careers. Previously, Ms. Coitz was a senior policy analyst at Jobs for te Future and te State Policy Director for te Lifelong Learning Account (LiLA) program at te Council for Adult and Experimental Learning. 12 Kristin Conklin, Panelist Founding Partner, HCM Strategists, Wasington, DC Kristin Conklin is an expert in iger education policy and strategy development at te state and federal levels across te firm s iger education clients. Se as led te firm s state policy outreac for productivity, supported by Lumina Foundation, since HCM s inception in A Pell Grant recipient and te first college graduate in er family, Kristin earned er bacelor s degree in political science from California Polytecnic State University in San Luis Obispo and a master s degree in public policy from Georgetown University. Jon Kolotos, Panelist Policy Analyst, US Department of Education, Office of Postsecondary Education, Wasington, DC Jon Kolotos as been wit te Department of Education for over 20 years, first a program reviewer and ten as a policy analyst. He drafted or was on te team tat drafted te regulations for te State Postsecondary Review Entities, te Cas Management rules, te Financial Responsibility regulations, and most recently te Program Integrity and Gainful Employment regulations. Before joining te Department, Kolotos worked as a consultant for a tird-party servicer tat administered te financial aid programs for over 100 scools. Please arrive early. Seating is limited. Please feel free to utilize te Red Line of te Metro in te direction of Glenmont and get off at Union Station. Te Visitor s Center is a sort walk from tat station. In order to enter te Congressional Visitor Center, you will ave to go troug a metal detector and security cecks. Please make sure to leave any large bags (14 wide x 13 ig x 4 deep), weapons, food, beverages, liquids, and aerosol containers in your otel room. Following security, you may proceed directly to te auditorium. Desk ceck-in is not required. Eugene Giovannini, Introduction President, GateWay Community College, AZ Te Honorable Joe Heck (R-NV) US House of Representatives Joe Heck is in is second term representing Nevada s Tird Congressional District in te United States Congress. Heck is only te tird person to old tis seat since its creation. He serves on te Education and Workforce Committee, and te Armed Services Committee, as well as te House Permanent Committee on Intelligence. Dr. Heck as more tan 25 years in public service as a pysician, Army Reservist, and community volunteer. Previously, Heck served as a volunteer firefigter and ambulance attendant, Searc & Rescue team member, and SWAT pysician. A Colonel in te U.S. Army Reserves, e was called to active duty tree times, including a deployment to Iraq in support of Operation Iraqi Freedom.
