(Continued from the April 8, 2015 Public Hearing) PLANNING COMMISSION RECOMMENDATION: Planning Commission recommends that TA-Z version dated April 23, 2015, be APPROVED with the deletion of Section B.3. (8-0; Morris/Perry, Van Laethem excused) Mrs. Hanson read TA-Z into the record for Commission review and action. Staff Presentation: Ms. Shaffer stated that based on potential impacts on residential neighborhoods, Planning staff recommended that TA-Z version dated April 23, 2015 be DENIED. Proponent: Rick Fisher, 1145 Rodgers Street, Chesapeake, Virginia, appeared before the Commission on behalf of TA-Z representing Beekeeper Guild of Southeast Virginia. Pamela Fisher, 1145 Rodgers Street, Chesapeake, Virginia, appeared before the Commission on behalf of TA-Z representing Beekeepers Guild of Southeast Virginia. 5 4 Chesapeake Planning Commission DRAFT May 13, 2015 Public Hearing Minutes John Steffel, 2326 Angler Lane, Chesapeake, Virginia, appeared before the Commission on behalf of TA-Z representing Tidewater Beekeepers. Tom Freeman, 1900 Pocaty Road, Chesapeake, Virginia, appeared before the Commission on behalf of TA-Z representing himself. Those who spoke asked that Section B.3. be deleted from the ordinance. COMMISSION DISCUSSION: Commissioner Morris stated that this Ordinance supported the Comprehensive Plans goal of protecting, maintaining, and improving the quality of the natural environmental system. He said he wanted to delete the section regarding Flyaway fencing because it was questionable, in his mind, if there was an actual need for fencing. COMMISSION VOTE: Commissioner Morris moved that TA-Z version dated April 23, 2015 be APPROVED with the deletion of Section B.3 of the Zoning Ordinance. Commissioner Perry seconded the motion. The motion was carried by a vote of 8-0. Commissioner Van Laethem was excused.
