1 Introduction to the bibliography The sources listed below are not a comprehensive list of the literature available for conflict analysis and resolution but they are representative of the subject. To provide a full list would require a large book and be impractical and the bibliography provided, which will no doubt grow, is for the sources that are used, or have been read, as part of the development of the CAR section of this website. As such, their inclusion does not place them above other works in terms of merit, although all of those cited are notable works in their own right. The bibliography is divided into categories for ease of use. These are: 1. Handbooks and general texts on armed conflict. 2. Books 3. Book Chapters 4. Articles. 5. Research Methods (All). This bibliography is a general one for all of the CAR section of the CARIS website and does include works that are now out of print and academic articles that require a fee to access. To mitigate this for the general reader, the handbooks and general texts on armed conflict category is limited to available works at an accessible price, handbooks and general works that introduce histories and themes of armed conflict.
