15 Open Development Process (ODP) Project proposals submitted by plenary delegation, an existing project team or a member of the Bureau Need support of 3 Heads of Delegation Approval by UN/CEFACT Bureau Work undertaken by UN/CEFACT Experts (from public and private sector) 15

16 Open Development Process (ODP) 1) Inception: After Bureau s approval, Call for Participation sent out by project leader 2) Requirements Gathering: initial contributions collected in a comments log 3) Interim Draft: draft-projects circulated for comments 4) Public Reviews: minimum 60 days from publication on UN/CEFACT website 5) Project Exit: Each project must go through a final quality assurance exercise to verify that the final draft has addressed all the stated requirements of the project. The conclusion of this process is Bureau or Plenary Approval and then Publication. 6) Publication: Final drafts published as UNECE documents 7) Maintenance: changes requested by implementers may lead to new projects 16

21 Cross Industry Invoice (CII) Maximum data-set invoice which covers multiple sectors and multiple types of commodities Part of a group of messages called the Cross-Industry family of deliverables. Based on Core Component Library (CCL) Semantic base definitions compatible with all other UN/CEFACT deliverables And compatible with other organizations that are compliant with CCL: WCO, IATA, GS1 21

23 Reference Data Model we did not try to fix the 400 year old road infrastructure in our cities we created super highways to support physical movement similarly we have now developed Reference Data Models for defining required Process Driven information flows to be exchanged along super highways for information 23
