Points: - Public history makes history meaningful in everyday life connecting people to history. - Public history helps us to study past events and guide future. - It is concerned with the application of history for the benefit of people in contemporary and future times. - Knowledge of history is useful as it can provide guidance in finding solutions to contemporary social issues and incorporate them in social planning. - Applied History is also known as Public History. What kind of professional opportunities are available in the field of arts? Points: - art historians can work in field of journalism. - art market is an independent field. It calls for speical expertise to access the exact value of an art object or to ensure that it is genuine. An expert with deep understanding of art history is required for this task. - Art students can work in museums. archives, libraries, archeological research and indology. - Industry and advertisement, interior design, production of ornamental object, art direction for films, designing in various fields. - architecture and photography, animated graphics, textile designing etc. 4. How can we correlate applied History with our present? Points: - Application of applied history with our present. - History studies past events. It is our heritage. Ans.: This statement is true. Right to information Points: - Citizen empowerment is essential condition of democracy. - Increased communication between citizen and the Government helps in strengthening democracy and in building a relationship of trust between them. - It increases transperancy and accountability of governance. - It has made the government more transparent and reduced the element of secracy. - It has strengthened the citizen and democracy. 2. National Parties Points: - Political party, that is active on national level has to follow following conditions prescribed by the Election Commission. - Minimum 6% of valid votes in four or more states in earlier Loksabha or State Assembly and minimum 4 members to be elected in Loksabha from any State or states in earlier elections. - The condidates of a party should be elected from minimum 2% constituencies out of total Loksabha constituencies and from minimum 3 states. 3. Which factors are required for the success of democracy in India? Points: - increase in participation of people at all levels. - in democractic government, everyone s opinion should be considered and all religious, linguistic, ethnic and caste groups should get equal opportunity to participate in decision making. - to make political process transparent and avoid criminalisation of politics. - not only government, but everyone at social and individual level should make conscious efforts towards it. - Create economic and social democracy alongwith political democracy. 4. Explain the functions of Election Commission.
